Has UKQnA.com ever changed the way you think about something?
UKQnA.com seems to be a place where people come to ask questions about factual things, or else they want to promote some viewpoint.
Has anyone here ever asked a question, or read someone else's question, and come away feeling 'enlightened' about something, or with a different viewpoint? In short, has anyone ever learnt something (other than simple factual knowledge)?
Has anyone ever been persuaded by someone else's argument and conceded that they might have a point, after all?
Let's hear your stories..
Answers:
No, except that I'm not so thick after all
No.
Sadly I don't think I have-even after spending a ridiculaous amount of time on here:(
I have learned to be more tolerant and less sensitive
you have to take the A`s and Q`s lightly as they are not proven
I have always been a very sensitive person, and although, so far i havent had any "ahaa" moments with any questions or answers, i have developed a bit of a thick skin.Coz, when u ask or answer questions, there will always be some people who agree and some who disagree and arent afraid of voicing their opinions, and sometimes they can be rude too.
So, in a way i have learnt to live and not to be affected by other ppls opinions. I have realised that ppl dont always have to like u or agree with ur opinions, and u can still be a good human being.
I have asked many questions in the past and have indeed taken some opinions and comments to heart. I have heard some very useful, realistic and thought challenging ideas here in the short time I have used this service.
As an example I have often asked about my ex boyfriend and have heard so many things suggesting he may not be true and that he may be leading me on. These opinions have leant well to my intuition but have also been comforting in giving me ideas and suggestions as to how to cope without him. It is in fact a nice outlet at times when life offers little else.
Sadly I must answer No. You have raised very interesting issue. Your question made me realize that I'm spending long hours without gaining much in return. I do not see any benefit. However I enjoy reading some positive views, when people are kind, genially concerned & helping to their best.
It helped me in increasing my typing skills.
I mostly ask factual questions about music or something, I dont ask opinion questions,
I really enjoy answering opinion questions especially on religion but i give a viewpoint and nothing I've seen has ever seen has changed my view on something, occasionally I've seen something that reinforces my view ( like a new argument that hlpes my view) but I've never ever seen anything thats made me think I was totally wrong.
no, it didn't "enlighten" me but i think it benefited lots of people in some ways, and this is the point of UKQnA.com.
Having other people's insights is great. The advice helps, and now I am able to observe my problems at different angles. I am strong with myself in areas which before I struggled with. I challenge myself, and more importantly I want to do it! Using the internet and searching the web has changed me! I hope you will be able to do this for yourself as well. There are many web pages containing useful and easy to understand information. UKQnA.com is one of the best!
No, but it's given me the chance to have the occasional rant, and it's given me many chuckles!
