If ignorance is bliss, then ..?

Why do we seek knowledge so much?

Answers:
I think that old idiom is stupid and totally wrong. Ignorance is hell.
Lots of people like to say "knowledge is power" and other worn-out catch-phrases, and it's the kind of thing that usually spews forth out of the mouth of ignorant people. The truth is they don't understand one thing about knowledge or power. Ignorant people suck.

People seek knowledge when they are curious about something and want to understand in a way that opens up new opportunities to them.
We seek knowledge to increase our range of abilities and personal effectiveness in the world. We seek knowledge because we need to know, we need to answer our own questions, and we need to adapt to the challenges we have in our lives. We want to have an edge over our competition. We want to make life easier and better.

The bottom line is that gathering knowledge is one of the keys to unlocking your potential, and ignorant people seem to have only the potential for yet more ignorance.
I think I will ignore that question.

Ahhhh, what bliss!
because ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power
Knowledge is power!
because we're ignorant
because knowledge is power
Because knowledge is power my friend.
Ignorance is only bliss in retrospect.
Clearly S&M is bigger than we first thought!
because we don't want to be blissful.
because we are brought up to learn more adn develope, if we did not seek knowledge the world would never have been where it is today.
Ignorance may well B bliss but IGNORANCE is JUST another word 4 INTOLERANCE 2 Change, isn't it?
good question.. i cant even answer.. ignorance is blissful sometimes but yet it can cause misery
Because we don't always want to be in a state of bliss.
knowledge is power
...wipe the smile off my face
It's just a saying. I would say a true version of that would say "Ignorance is a short lived bliss" because the truth will eventually shed light on ones ignorance. At that point all that bliss becomes guilt.
Knowledge can inform, upset, educate, destroy, hurt be very positive and be seriously interesting
Cause we do not want to go back to the Stone Age. or do we?
It depends on what your ignoring. If you don't acknowledge or delve further on nasty things in life it's blissfull to be unaware because it won't upset you or play on your mind but if you seek knowledge on things that have no personal effect on yourself then thats a positive thing as you have the power of knowledge which mentally helps you learn and grow. I'd say it's all about positivity and negativty. Keep the positive and discard the negative.
WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW CANNOT HURT YOU... BUT WHAT YOU DO KNOW YOU CAN USE (POWER) BUT ALSO YOU HAVE A DUTY OR FEEL YOU HAVE A DUTY TO ACT ON IT AND LIVE BY WHAT YOU LEARN.
cos we dont want to be blissful just bad
There is no limit to what you can learn so you may die discontented because there are things they never got to learn in the lifetime. Whereas an ignorant people don't have that thirst for knowledge.
because bliss gets boring.
ignorance is bliss for those in the dark.

Knowledge is light which is power.
Raising your level of awareness will create a Lifestyle of effortlessness; if you choose to.
no,who said that?

ignorance is bliss for the ignorant,

the last 3 words u didnt see.
true knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.
I dont know why we do bother! look what scientists have created, weapons of mass destruction and look at the people who are rulers of their country they become smart *** arrogant mad dictators who like nothing more than blowing their own trumpet while blowing the cr44 out of any country they like and say its a just war or a holy war no matter how many innocent people are crippled or slaughtered.
too much of anything is not good for us!..its as simple as that!
Ignorance is only bliss if you don't know you're ignorant.

I'll tell you what is bliss though.....Ignorance!
to be ignorant of something means you are unaware of thus it is bliss so long as you remain unaware however the human condition is to become aware not blissful
