i'd buy something novelty like statue of liberty in a can, and try to trade various items up in value until i get a farm which in turn will enable me to live off the land and give milk to all the thirsty cats in the universe (yes, cats are aliens and theyre spying on us at all times, why else do they sneak around suspiciously at night time and catch birds, i'll tell you why because the birds are aliens too but they can fly which means they have an advantage over the cats, so you see it's all one big circle of alien life-forms and the makers of The Lion King knew this)
drugs, alcohol, and a fast car
Something to eat that is nourishing and sustaning such as bread or a roll and some cheap filling. Alternativly 10 caramel fredo chocolates or something similar. If not a puzzle magazine would do me.

Better you ask this question about what you would spend on your last pound and I can suggest what you would have to do with it. Buy bread and feed it to the poor. Or even better. donate it to the church or institution. or better still. give it as an alms for the beggar. He may need it more than you do. When you have done this, you might have a good answer to God's question that goes like this," When I was hungry, did you fed me"?
I would give it to children charity nspcc, knowing it was helping some poor child somewhere would be a £1 well spent.
A phone call to tell my wife and kids I love them.
