Could you fit the entire population of the world, shoulder to shoulder on the Isle of Wight ?

Answers:
In a box measuring one mile by one mile by one mile (one cubic mile), you could fit almost three times the entire human population.

Assumptions: Each person is 6 feet tall, 1 foot thick, and 1.5 feet wide. These dimensions are larger than the average human.

If you do the math, you will find that in a box measuring one cubic mile, you could fit 16,132,300,800 people. Pretty amazing, huh?

In a cube shaped box with sides that measure well less than two miles long each, you could fit every single person who has ever been alive assuming the exact same dimensions, per person, as I discussed above.
maybe
i hope not .. mummy is on holiday there right now !
I know it was calculated that you could in the 70's. Not sure what the situation is now
You seriously need to get a life
Yes, especially if you were able to stand each other on their heads too.
Ehh. Why do even want to know that???
No.because you would never get them to stand shoulder to shoulder.
Yes this is true and I remember this question from elsewhere and the answer was yes.
Thats a tough one. do they have to be alive coz piled on top I think they would. But alive no
I remember being told that years ago, but the rate the world population is growing, I am not sure if it is still true.
Have you seen the size of some Americans?
NO, don't be silly, isle of wight is only 26 miles across.!
6:5 billion people on the isle of white? I don't think so
it's the population of the UK

that was when it was about 30 million

9 persons (babies and children are picked up and held) occupy each square meter
Oddly enough, I think it might be possible. I remember reading that you could house the entire world's population in a sanitary manner inside the state of Texas. (Although it would be more or less a huge slum.) Its hard to imagine that kind of population density.
I hope I don't get to stand in front of George Micheal!!
ISLE OF WIGHT - Is totally clean, spacious and quiet

I love it like that as its near me,..

But YES i think you could fit the world onto one island.

At least put all the 16-25 females on there for me ; )
Yes it would be possible to fit the entire population of the world within a land mass the size of the isle of wight although it would cost a fortune as the ferry service to the island is allegedly the most expensive in the world for price/distance travelled.
Apparently, but I think that is based on the average size human, which of course people vary substantially from, especially seeing as the calculation was made several decades ago. There are some rather huge people on earth nowadays, and a new estimate would be required based on the new average. Of course, even if it was still valid, it is always "theoretically" only. It would be impossible to test to make sure ("hey guys, tell you what, why don't you all leave your homes and we'll stick you all together on an island maybe half the world away from home, with your enemies, and people you've never met who will be hostile towards you, and some people with serious BO issues..") and even then you'd have to FIND everyone. Who really knows how many people there are on this planet?
i do remember this question being asked on a different site before.i remember someone had a link(which i dont have sorry) but basically it was that the whole worlds population could fit on the isle of wight and the isle of man.he worked it out mathamatically and concluded that it would be possible if the whole surface was used and also provided that the tide was out its furthest possible
OK, here is the maths (Hope I got this right.)
The Isle of White is approx 388 Square Kilometres and the population of the earth is approx 6.5 billion. I reckon this equates to 16.75 people per square meter which would be a very tight squeeze. So , No, I reckon it can't be done although I would agree with the others who suggested that it probably was possible not too long ago when the earths population was smaller.
In the 50s/60s it was estimated you could. Later it was updated to Zanzibar as in the novel "Stand on Zanzibar" by John Brunner. What the current equivalent island would be I have no idea Maybe some one ought to ask that question.
yes on top of one another.
