Should we ban the national lottery?

i think that it should not be banned since there is a chance. you see the lottery can also help raise the spirits of many people. like when someone goes and gets a ticket they always get the feeling that they will win. it raises them up, of course many people don't win. but they don't always fall down in the slumps. they always have the feeling that "o i guess it is ok that i lost i mean there can always be a next time". however there are gamblers who buy like 800 tickets at once to see if they get a better chance. now if they lose then that is there fault. i mean u have to understand that the lotto is a gambling game, in which many people pay a couple dollars to see if they can make it into millions. the lotto also makes a lot of money and that can help the government with their taxes. billions of people play so they make 10+billion and they give 2- billion away for costs. now 1 billion goes to taxes and government. now with that billion can help build shelter homes so many other people can enjoy there life as well as medical homes and newer roads for safer conditions and of course school and college. so by closing the lotto then i believe that taxes may increase to keep up with those costs.

why do you ask this? It gives poeople something to do who no longer go out, it gives some hope and it can be fun. Also lottery funding helps many projects around the UK.
So the answer is NO. If anything it should be made better with better odds to keep the ball rolling.
We should keep the national lottery, but should kerb the quango that run the handouts from giving the money out to stupid, or political causes such as asylum seekers
