Hey! THAT's the american dream!!
Sucks to be you then.
Yeah, but then what else is there to do.
Was that Bon Jovi? Cheerful chappie, eh?

Life is what you make it!!
Yeah.it's a Bittersweet Symphony.
ah the verve what a great band. you slave at a job for money then you die.
i do believe some people are going to be buried with there money, lol
Basically your having to earn your livivng. You need money to survive. Have to be a workaholic then death comes. Whats the point in life if all you do is work to live.
when money starts actually *verbally* bossing me around, i'll consider calling myself its slave. until then, i am slave only to the fleshy mortal body in which i am trapped
True. But you'll die without money too.
Trouble is that you can't take it with you when you're dead so you may as well have fun with it while you can
we live in a materialistic world, we desire what we see others have, we crave to be rich, but lots of cultures do not live like this, tribes live on bartering, sharing, community farming and live happily without banks, TV and the American dream.. Ti's a state of mind..you should work to live (which is bad enough) not live to work..
He spent his health in search of wealth,
To gold he was a slave.
Then he spent his wealth in search of health,
But he only found a grave.
It sounds so hypocrite if I will say money can't buy happiness but yes it does!To live as happy we need money for living but not to the extent that your life maybe more focus on making money to become more richer but we must have what we need enough to meet our daily needs! If you are one of the richest people in the world, you are not exempted from death, that is the only thing that we all have something in common that you cannot bring all your wealth to nowhere when you die,and many rich people died spent lot of money just to survive but the nature always win and their money has nothing to do when their cells surrenders from expensive doctors and medicine!Money is just a part of man's success while they are breathing and too much money for someone is just "bunos+ or incentives,no matter what, everyone has one destination, and that is death!
If you choose that, you are that.

"You're a slave to money . when money controls you, tells you what to do, when to wake up!

then you die." . this is very negative only if you believe in death.
........ I believe in life everlasting so I get another try.

Discuss.? . the jeopardy answer is .What is in deep dodo debt?
Yes I am. But when I die I lose my golden chains .
that's all .. Death as a friend .

(Of course I don't want to die now — but at the age
of Johannes Heesters it might be O.K. with me . )
Pretty much sums up the world today.
We wake up, go to work, come home, get food, go to bed.
Repeat the process.
People have been doing it for years, never learning the truth, that chasing money, isn't going to buy you eternity...or, for that matter, anything to take with you.
Ever see a luggage rack on a hearse? It's a good line, from brooks and Dunn, but it's true..how many people do you know of ,that go, work all their life, and die, with a lot of stuff, they'll never use again?
The adage, he who dies with the most toys, wins, isnt' really true..what's the boat going to do for you in heaven? Or the ferrari?
I read one time, some lady wanted to be buried with her car..and was..under some concrete, so no one could get her favorite car. If that isn't the sign of someone vain, I don't know what is.
What's truly Ironic, is that it is technically impossible to own anything. Sure, Trump can claim he owns casinos and hotels..but, when he dies..they aren't his anymore.he was simply borrowing them in his life.
I'd say, have enough money to make your loved ones happy, enjoy yourself.and then make someone else happy.
I prefer "as soon as you're born, you're dying"
Not true.

You are a slave to what you want or desire, then you die.

Money is a medium of exchange, we use money to buy things, we want more money to be able to buy more things; ultimately, it is the things WE WANT to buy (need not be a tangible thing) that we serve. And the best part is that we continuously have a new master once we satisfy the previous one by purchasing it.

Think about it, what were you living on when you were a kid, or a student? Was that enough? Sure you wanted more, how much more? Did it ever occur to you hat if you made an extra $XX you wouldn't know what to do with the $. What happened when you reached $XX? You found that your preferences, the things YOU WANTED changed too.

This process is NOT inexorable, you can break the cycle if you choose to. But most of us don't even realise we can.

I know of people who decided they had enough, realised that the way the society they were living in was they would constantly be under pressure to always buy more and more stuff, and who simply decided to migrate to a place with less pressure and a more leisurely pace of life, with less $ of course.

I, personally save a chunk of my $, because I have decided I will not spend it all. I also do a business on the side to save a bit more, then the plan is that in a few years I'll just leave everything and be a virtual bum, doing stuff I like and getting minimal $ for it.

How I save is simple; my vice is the pub. I wear the same clothes, use public transport. I do not feel I'm depriving myself, that's my view. Someone on the outside might think I am, but I WANT it this way. I'm slave to my own laziness may be, but not to money.

Everyone makes the choice, consciously or not. So I'd say:
some are slaves to money, some decide not to be, but in the end, we all go back to dust/ashes, and what we did of our lives is the only thing that's left.
Well , it's true.

You grow up knowing that " Money doesn't grow on trees" and you have to have money to live.. then you grow up and you can't eat, drink or be merry without money.. you can't have kids without money..
Then you go to work and your 3 year old wants to know why and you tell him " Well , if you like toys and food, then I have to go to work and make money"

SO YEAH.. you're a slave to money.. and then you die. and then people fight over the money you had left..

Oh, what a world, what a world.
Only if you want to be. Free yourself, live in a hut in the middle of the New Forest, scavenge your food and freak out any ramblers passing through. Much better way to spend your time than shopping and buying an over-priced bed-sit in the South of England
Speak for yourself, sucker!
Yo gotta live your life. with or without a lot of money. Just do your best at what you love. And have friends to help you.
I'm not sure but it made me think, Thanks!
I think you got the second half wrong, we're already dead.
its the most honest thing in the world. u work all ur life pay taxes, bills etc so u end up with less money than u actually were paid then after doing this for most of ur life u die and ahve nothing. money is the worst invention ever.
