"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it."?
Answers:
Unfortunately, it's a cynical world. You're almost certainly cynical because you have the intelligence to see how things actually work.
Sorry not to be cheerier.
(If you're an extreme 'Classic Cynic' in the sense of not being able to believe any good of any one or thing, that's not cynicism in modern parlance, it's a combination of paranoia and depression, and medical treatment might help. But I bet you're just normal-usage cynical.)
I am too and think it is because I have been burned so many times in so many areas and truely believe most people have an alternative motive, be it right, wrong, or indifferent. Some cnynicism serves a protective function.
Calm and emotionally detached, with an abnormal sense of humor.
There is nothing 'wrong' with cynicism. But being ONLY that is unbalanced and likely to be a big drawback in life (unless you mix with others who are like-minded).
The reason for your cynicism is rooted in.!
It could be a very enlightening journey looking for the answer ..and your desire to look for it is (already) a good step, if you really have recognised that as a negative facet within yourself.
Best of luck with your journey (I hope you take it on .for a richer life)

I do not call the ability to make accurate observations cynicism. Cynicism is an extreme attitude toward life which interprets events from the perspective that nothing which happens is what it appears to be and nothing is good. Cynics take skepticism to an extreme mixing in elements of fatalism which says nothing we do matters because everything has been predetermined.
I consider the ability or the power to make accurate observations an aspect of intelligence. The correct term for the ability is perspicuity.

To be cynical about others means the person lacks empathy. Tolerance and acceptance is the path to understanding and love. Without understanding and accepting others we cant learn about ourselves.Being cynical about oneself means lack of self-acceptance. Love oneself, to accept oneself, to know oneself, to better oneself. Detached observation does not equal cynicism. Diogenes (the original and most famous cynic) used cynicism to awaken the conscience of his contemporaries. Modern cynicism defies the accepted social "norms" but too much self-reliance can be myopic and lead to illusions of grandeur or downright bigotry.
