Imagine if you are a 12 year old innocent child, you come onto UKQnA.com? If you hear somebody insulting?

your religion (extremely) when you don't really understand it for yourself, how is that going to make you feel? And do you think that it would give an affect on your adult life?

PS Any religion!

Answers:
Opinion and freedom to view an opinion is our most important freedom. Why I sympathise with you at 12 maybe you are not mature enough to understand we are all different and have varying opinions. Religion is always a hot topic and as you grow up you will learn that you never discuss religion at work or in general discussion as you will always offend someone.

Maybe you parents should put a net nanny on this site until you understand that freedom of speech means you are not always going to hear nice things.
Yes
Maybe they should raise the minimum age here to 18 then.

Or maybe Yahoo should start sorting out the inapproriate questions a bit faster.
No I don't think it would affect my adult life (I'm 13). I'm plenty happy with my Christian lifestyle. And I know that's it's right.
I don't think anybody here should be insulting religions. We all have the freedom to choose who we worship, or to choose not to worship at all.
Is questioning a religion considered insulting to you?
That is the point. We don't want your 12 year old children growing up to believe in mythology. There are enough religious zealots as there is!
it is terrible ..but then where are the parents af this 12 year old ? dont they know of parental controls ?
u cant expect the rest of the world to refrain, just cos some parent of some nosey kid is out of control ..can u ?
this is where parental control comes in - I wouldn't be happy to find my 12 year old on UKQnA.com full stop
I'm not sure how insulted you can be if you dont truely understand it yourself.

And most comments I see on the religion section should open doors to other possibilities and beliefs, not what has been instilled upon you since birth.
I don't think it would, but it would give them an insight of the ignorance of some people.
First off, my 12 year old would not be browsing the web or UKQnA.com unsupervised. That is bad parenting.

Secondly, do you think for a second that the answers you read here are all based on truth? They are mostly other's opnions based on their own experiences or their own stupidity.

I would take everything I read on here based on religion with a grain of salt. Religion is man-made. God didn't make religions. Religions were invented because no-one could agree on this or that when "interpreting" the bible. The bible is the definitive source of knowledge for everlasting life IN MY OPINION. Not some UKQnA.com..
I wouldn't let my 12 yr old on this site.
If you are 12 and even HAVE a religion it is because someone else, probably a parent, has brainwashed it into you. I think seeing that there are other points of view, even when they are harsh, can do nothing but help a person later in life. The real question should be why do we allow adults to brainwash their child in such a manner BEFORE the age of twelve. Humans should be raised to question and look for choices, not blindly believe in something and then be sheltered from anything that doesn't agree with it.
well its about time that you understand this world. Everyone has there own personal opinions, and eventually when you grow up you will learn to understand that it doesn't matter what other people think and that it shouldn't bother you. Words are just words they can be forgotten in 5 minutes. Everyone is different and you are you and that person is that person. You wil not be able to change other peoples opinions.
It'd really get me confused about what I believe, I can tell you that right now. It'd also probably have a negative impact on my adult spiritual lifestyle. Good thing I'm 20!
MM< that makes me wonder how did the conversation on the internet go? And who are the people that got involved in? Twelve years old, I would not go to websites that I feel would insult me. First, also I would not give out personal information regards me as an individual. Especially when you're twelve years old. Ask your parents to put child safe filters onto your computer. They can ask an computer expert on this. Frankly, I don't think that this will affect you in your adult life. Cause you will be constantly exposed in your school or likely in your environment about situations like that. The overal point that I can give you is this: Learn about your Religion, ask your parents for clearification and also your Religious leaders for assistance. With twelve years old we are trying to understand our world from our point of view. I hope this helps you. Good luck!!
that is the problem of yahoo and parents because i don't think this side should be for kids, i wouldn't let my kid watch this side if i had any.
12 year olds should not be on this site and I would be extremely worried about a parent letting their child on it. Their are literally thousands of safe sites for children, don't make adults feel guilty for having their say on a site meant for their entertainment including having an opinion on something not meant for childrens eyes!
12 year olds have alot more going on upstairs than you are giving them credit for. They already know that some people get off on putting down others.

They already have adapted by either letting it get to them or by tuning it out.
no
I haven't been 12 for a long time.

I was, in fact, 13, when I made up my own mind what path I was to follow. I chose to follow the Occult, because that felt, to me, to be the most spiritual and "in tune" of all the choices available. I spent the next four years questioning the establishment religion my folks brought me up under; but I let it all drop for a few years afterwards, because I had more pressing matters to deal with.

I didn't turn fully towards the Occult until I was 23. But I remember the days of my 12th year, when I began thinking these thoughts.

In all honesty, I don't think anyone could have insulted my religion back then. I was already making the process of changing it. The only thing someone could have done, way back then, would have been to have turned me away from /their/ religion, because there would have been no way I would have wanted to join any religion which encouraged that, or any other sort, of bigotry.
12 y.o.'s do not belong on UKQnA.com, this place is for the mature and strong stomachs.

Children will be scarred for life
first, if a 12 year old child is on UKQnA.com, he should take whatever he gets. good or bad. second, whatever is said, at any age, ppl should be able to see the truth of it once they mature.
the parents should be there when that happens
to help the young people understand whats going on,
and if the young people is raised in a good home and the teachings are the best that the mom's and dad's can do
the child can still live life in the manner they should.
If i had a 12 yr old id have this and many more sites blocked.
I personally don't think UKQnA.com is appropriate for 12 year old children.
