what is the difference between british and american sign languages?

British Sign Language uses a signs and grammar structures that are set apart from spoken or written English. It works on many levels and is expressed using two hands in a multi channel way, however AMerican Sign Language (ASL) is used with two hands but the majority of their spellings are made using one hand. ASL is closer to spoken American in terms of its morphology
2 raised fingers in the UK has the same as 1 raised finger in the US !!
