1980's vs 2000's?

What changed in the last 20 years? Was it better back then? What did we achieved? Or lost.?

Answers:
no morals left.but please i beg you dont bring back the fashoins or the hair! i never want aqua net or high tops again!
Many things have changed. I don't think it is a matter of being necessarily better just different.
lost - trust in society . gained - more drugs, worse attitude, more peer pressure
it was so much better in the 80s great music, less fighting and everyone seemed happier
oh for the good ol days
Every generation re-invents itself
Music is better, clothes are better, computers/internet are all we know. it's better now than it was - just more expensive.
80s were better because there were fewer people and less traffic. And homes were more affordable. I remember my dad paying $130K for a fixer upper home in a nice neighborhood. It's now worth $500K!!!!
1980's for sure , todays word is full of plastic people with the personality of a slipper .
Much better back then, all we had to worry about was Reagan and Gorby, the Northern Ireland trouble and thats about it,, everyone else made a fortune and wore mad shirts, the quattro was released by Audi and life was good. Then we had the acid house scene,, which was nice ;-)
Of cousre there was famine and all that stuff, but that was always gonna be there coz the powers that be, could, but wouldn't do anything about it. So they left it down to good old Bob, who sang for it.
Can't knock the 80's I was 5 -15 years old.
Are you depressed or nostalgic or both?
I've managed to 'achieve' 3 screaming kids and 'lost' my virginity.

LoL XxX
some was better. some was worse. Mostly there are small differences.

Computers, cell phones, iPods are a big difference.

AIDS had started, but nobody understood why people were dying, there were no drugs to treat it.

NO company or person had an automated voice mail system that kept you from talking to a human being.

Medicine has advanced a lot. Heart transplants and liver transplants were possible but still risky. Brain surgery was still likely to result in death within a year. Very few drugs to control depression. None for panic. No miniature cameras to let doctors see inside the body.

The world was less scary in some ways, more scary in other ways.

I think people were more hopeful in the 1980s.
i think the 1980s was the best years of my life, the school disco,my first boyfriend and having loads of fun,but nothing good has happened in the year 2000 just my two lush children......
