What do you think of amphetamines and the people who use them?

I've been using i.v. amphet 4 nearly 15 years, every day, with no psych probs at all. I don't "tweak" any more, I just take it to get me up in the morning. I don't think of myself as a junkie & would be offended if anyone said I was, I don't associate with them, instead, I'm currently 2/3 thru an Open University course (straight A's so far) I don't commit any crimes to fund my habit, (if I can't afford it I go without) I've never stolen from/robbed/mugged anyone & I've never been arrested. I now get my wizz in tabs from the NHS & if you met me you'd prob never guess, most people don't. So please don't tar us all with the same brush, not all drug users are drug 'abusers' & we can still be useful members of society, given the oppurtunity to do so.
Tweakers scare me.

It depends on what they are using them for. If they are using them for real pain or a legitimate reason then there is no problem with that. But if they are using them because they are hooked on them then I think they should get help. But, I'm not particularly happy with having any kind of junkie around me or mine though.

I think the concept of the modern day superhero stems from someone who used amphetamines heavily.. gaining super strength and confidence to fight the crazy villans while losing your mind just enough to squeeze into some crazy outfit to do so.
Amphetamines allow us to reach a state that allows us to do crazy things..
I think it's a very sad thing to watch people waste their lives and lose everything that means anyhting to them. I know for a fact that these people are never the same after a long use of meth. It takes years for them to build their lives back up to where they used to be and the brain damage could be permanent. I also know that if a person is using for a good amount of time they will need a substantial amount of help to get off of it.
The drugs are crap and the people who use them are assholes..
everybody has their own hangups, but that drug has messed with a lot of lives.
