Can you prescrib any reading material to get to know about communication?

I am doing a degree course on communication studies.

Your best bet is your tutor or course convenor. They definitely have a long list of suggested books for the courses you are going to be taking. Try and get a copy of that as those books are relevant to the type of course you are doing and the methods of your college/ university.

There are some introductory books out there that you might find useful in a more general way - I have given you the links in the source below.

Yes. If your meaning is communication between a man and a woman, "The Five Love Laguages" (if my memory serves me, that is the title) is a must read. Very much an eye opener and will help you understand what the opposite sex and people in general are thinking. What makes us (man or woman) "tick", so to speak.
