Has anyone had their question answered by an expert as yahoo seemed to suggest when I signed up to this site?
Answers:
IIRC, the "experts" were only sticking around for something like 72 hours.
we are all experts in our own little world
Have you asked a question worth an experts time?
Trouble is not many people ask questions about things I'm an expert on.
There are 1001 experts on this site in their own fields: and many Legends in their own life times: Ask the right question, and I feel sure you will find yours.lol
Definition of an expert
Ex - former, previous, a has been
spurt - a drip under pressure
Therefore an expert is a former drip under pressure
Answer to your question: - yes we have all had our questions answered by experts (former drips under pressure)
I have not asked any question yet. I have answered some questions, though. I don't necessarily believe that I am an expert, but I've tried to use common sense in my answers. Some questions ask for general information and those that ask what may require a professional answer should ask a professional. If Stephen Hawking can ask a question for the Yahoo! audience being the expert that he is, anyone then will answer.
Occasionally, but most people on site will be barrack room lawyers. If you go to the computer site you are more likely to get professionals or at least knowledgeable amateurs. It's the childish abusive ones that I can't stand.
Yes, there are a few people who seem capable of taking this site seriously. What you'll probably find is that you can expect ten ridiculous answers for every one decent one. But the good side is that the good ones are usually worth putting up with it for.
It really depends on who is doing the comparing. Yahoo is run by young adults that have no grasp on life. They are just running a forum which is open to any answers that get an 'award' for being the most popular. This is not serious, in fact Yahoo wrote this answer.
I see answers given from peoples personal experience and their learning in the world that appear to be given in good faith that pertain to the question asked, is that not what this forum is about.
Some questions asked are so erm well silly that is it suprising they get silly answers, I think thats called fun.
I admit to being somewhat judgemental in which questions merit a decent and hopefully well constructed answer, I will spend time on those that are spelt correctly ( or nearly as my typing is not perfect nor is my spelling ) and at least make sense in the language I will be answering in, English, in my case being from England. I would not consider myself an expert on anything but have considerable experience and learning in some things and choose to share that on occassion, if it is taken seriously good if not well thats ok as well. :-) . my choice to be here after all . :-) .
