Which is more powerful?

knowledge or wisdom and why?

Answers:
knowledge without wisdom: the most powerful and destructive combination. doing the wrong things right (on purpose!)
knowledge with wisdom: also powerful but quite often results in hesitance. doing the right things right
wisdom without knowledge: like doing the right things wrongly may be as destructive as the first
wisdom without knowledge: like doing the wrong things wrong may or may not be powerful

So the bottomline is wisdom determines the direction and knowledge determines the extent. They are different things.
you need both
I would say wisdom. Wisdom comes with knowledge.
Knowlegde is simply carrying the information whilst wisdom is knowing what to do with it. they go hand in hand.
wisdom. I know a whole bunch of stuff but I've never been called wise. Wise is what I attain to be, Therefore wisdom is better than knowledge.
Wisdom. I know many knowledgeable people, but they lack the ability to utilize it. Wisdom is a more profound understanding of the ins and outs and is acquired through experiences, both real and vicariously, not reading text books or listening to lectures.
Wisdom is more important.

Anyone can read something and obtain knowledge. However if something pops up that is not covered by the book, that person is lost.

Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge. A person with wisdom can reason out the out of the ordinary situation.

Or it can be summed up as "Book smart" vs. "Common Sense".
Wisdom of course, well in my view, as without wisdom or intelligence, one has no craving to learn!
Knowing alot is useless if you do not know how to use it properly!

Hi Hi, like a hairdryer, without a plug!
i supose it would have to be knowledge as if you have alot of knowledge you can get into school and pass aklot of exams and end up with a better job .
knowledge, because you cant have wisdom with out knowledge.
Wisdom is more important because it is the ability to apply knowledge.
wisdom anyone can have knowledge but to have wisdom that's power
Neither - knowledge is fairly useless without the wisdom to act on it and wisdom without knowledge is no good as you have nothing to act on.
how could u have one without the other? knowledge is power and wisdom is the part of knowledge that lends it character
Wisdom. No matter how much information you know, unless you know how to use it, have a good perspective on the issues of your world, and understand how people need and will best receive that information you possess, knowledge can be quite useless.
i will go for wisdom, wisdom can help me to see things in a way that may seems to be irrelevant in the eyes of men.

for eg. i always feel compassionate for people who gone astray, wisdom from my own problems before tell me that i am blessed at least i didn't go the path they travel.. fate could led me to their plight, thus i try not to judge them personally but to encourage them to lead a good life instead.
Obviously , wisdom rules, because with wisdom, knowledge can be gained to suit the updated situation, AFRESH !
Mere knowledge could be just obsolete, and if not accompanied with wisdom, lead to mis-application and irreversible and /or adverse consequences !
i think wisdom. If you have knowledge only without wisdom so how you will make it useful for example in my opinion you know that fire burn but you have no wisdom that how can make it useful ..so if you have wisdom i think you can earn knowledge because you have wisdom which guid you that how and fro where you can get knowledge.....
I would say wisdom because wisdom teaches you when to tell your knowledge and when to keep your knowledge to yourself.
Knowledge is wisdom
Knowledge is more powerful Than Wisdom.
Both are interrelated. One attracts the other. Both are equally important and equally powerful but sometimes wisdom gets upper hand.
Definitely wisdom as knowledge is one thing because anybody can be very knowledgeable, but not very wise, so yes wisdom is more powerful
You cannot have wisdom without first having knowledge so it is not an either or situation. Wisdom only comes with time and experience.
wisdom yuor born with knowledge you gain!
wisdom, easily. As the old tyre advert had it, "power is nothing without control". Information is only useful if you know what to do with it.

But don't diss knowledge; it's great; there should be more of it. Sometimes without knowledge, wisdom turns into foolishness, like the traditional healer who told a women she should treat her kid's diarrhoea by depriving the child of water ("he has too much" he said). That's the opposite of knowledge, and no matter how wise he was, he was wrong.

PS I like cannadoo's answer
There's no ying without yang .
Wisdom.cause it's knowledge learned.
Look at our society!
Lots of knowledge, very little wisdom.
You could still say knowledge was more "powerful",
but the use of wisdom is to know a measure and a goal.
If you are asking which gives you the most power, then I would say knowledge.

Certain types of knowledge will always give you power (or an advantage of some kind) over others. For example, if I know somewhere that I can get my shopping for half the price everyone else pays, this gives me more money for other things.

Furthermore, when dictatorships want to stay in power, they suppress the spread of knowledge as a means of control over their people. They may suppress the media or the education system. In China internet search engines are censored.

However, in terms of personal power, i.e. self control, I would say wisdom is more important. That said, it is possible to increase wisdom through acquisition of knowledge.

Wisdom is more profound. Knowledge is more powerful. That is not to say that power is always a good thing.
