How clever is the average person "answering" a question on UKQnA.com?
Let's say you get 20 answers to a question with some kind of twist. How many answers will hint that there is a developed intellect lurking in the region of the keyboard?
Answers:
depends on the question.but on average out of 20 answers I would say 2 to 3 will show intellect/ wit.as well as an actual comprehension of the meaning of the question. as to its intent as a serious question or just a rhetorical/ and or facetious/humorous question.. most unfortunately do not.
i..dont.know..but i answered anyways...
an average of 2
2 or 3, with every rose there is many thorns--
I usually get one truly intelligent answer per question. Most people, I think, want the points and don't care about taking the time or effort to give advice. They answer with a simple one word "yes" or "no" and that's that.
I would hope----at least one answer.
Dunno 'bout clever, but a lot of people answering seem to be ignorant.
And a lot of people asking seem to be illiterate.
For any specific question (such as this one), you must decide for yourself the value of the answer - and thereby, the value of the individual answering.
In a more general sense. the average answerer is about as intelligent, well-informed, and clever as a box of wet gravel. Most of the answers here - and, I suspect, most of the questions too - are pathetic bids for attention.
Depends are you taking into account that alot of the people answering will be in HS or are you saying actually intelligent? If you take into account that a decent chunk of your answers are fairly well thought out and intelligent given the age they are I would say 5-7, if you ignore age and go just by the direct answers.2-3.
It would be one person out of those twenty
Plenty.
Clever is a perk. Exchange with people is fun. I don't grade it.
It depends on the question and when you ask it - there seems to be more apparent intelligence around at some times than others!
I'd say in general about half of the answerers are actually trying to be helpful (as opposed to just being there for the points).
Of those - if it's an easy question, then the majority (say 8 to 9) will be more or less right; a more difficult one tends to get you 3 to 4 answers (out of 20) which make you stop and look, and maybe give you a different insight into it.
It has a lot to do with the quality of the question asked. Have you seen some of the rubbish that people actually waste 5 points to ask?
On average though, I probably see about 1 out of 10 answers that are thoughtful and intelligent, rather than illiterate or ignorant or just plain nasty.
You talk about 'developed intellect' with a question like that. HA HA HA don't make me laugh. Sounds like you need a one 2 one with Mr Hawkings.
how would you like to measure intelligence IQ level or other means like smart comments or such or being able to look things up on the Internet.
Er . ahhh . Doing-bing .. boong . bonk .
Oh, you wanted intelligence life . try Mars!!
Tippy-Tippy- Tahy ::: Tippy-Tippy-Toe :::: Tippy-Tippy-Toooo -Da - Looo.
Most people have an IQ of between 90 and 110. I only tend to get a handful of useful answers to my questions, and some people seem to misunderstand the question completely. That doesn't mean they're not intelligent though - maybe they're just lazy geniuses!
Not the majority, but certainly there are some who will take the time to give a thoughtful answer. I only answer if I feel I can offer some real insight or even a little humor. Another question you might consider asking is how clever are people who post really strange questions like "when is the best time to ask a random person to marry you?" <---- What is that about?
Do you mean "clever" or "intellectual"?
I think the asker gets people's voice (which is God's voice-----proverbial) when he gets, say, 20 or so answers.
Now it depends upon the asker as to how best he can use the information he gets.
Most of the answers, from my personal experience, are sincere answers, even if not intellectually the best. So I love this platform of UKQnA.com and I bow to all the sincere answerers.
It seems most just want to have fun , not really giving a answer,. may be 2 or three, seem to care what is really asked. But some of the questions are not with in my limits. Pem
Hard to say, I imagine people answering in UKQnA.com are generally of above average intelligence, as most f*ckwits probably don't know about/care about/have intelligence to use computers. But then there are a lot of nutters/religious idiots giving mad answers, and I'm one of the intellectual elite and only have 3% of my answers marked as best answers. I reckon 50% of my answers fall into clever but weird, 25% purely offensive and 25% just boring.
If its the average person answering, they're only going to be averagely clever aren't they?
I have found that 2 in every 1 person suffers from schizophrenia in general.
Otherwise the answer is 100% centigrade.
It also has come to my notice that half of them are stupid and the other 64% can't add up.
Judging from the replies a whole range of different IQs appear to be represented, from near illiterates to people who are clearly intelligent. Also many people appear kind and thoughtful whilst others are clearly psychopaths.
I have had great answers and terrible ones.
Many people are lazy and do it just for the points.
if we are judging by the spelling I see on here...lets just say "not the sharpest tool in the shed"
It has always been a problem for psychologists to measure intelligence. Most IQ testing tests knowledge, which can be influenced in many ways. Few test actual native knowledge- the knowledge we gain in life and are also born with.
clever enough to add 2 points
If I have answred, you can rest assured that I have done my best to be clever. I think I am intelligent as well. However, if I did not answer, then what you are reading is a figment of my imagination.
about 2 or 3
First, I weed out the ones who are just smart-asses, then the ones who can't spell, then the ones who are clearly confused, and that usually leaves 0-4 good answers.
what do I want?
Women, what do you prefer: sex or cake?
I do art/sewing as a hobby and sent my friend a picture using black charcoal?
Im a 26yr old male virgin?
The annoying, clingy kid at school.?
Who of you deserves eternal life?
Do you think money can by the heart of the opposite sex in terms of LOVE?/?
Why do the thought police on UKQnA.com censor my text when I answer questions?
