Back in 1988, I was in the same hospital for the 16th time in 4 years due to cancer. My children were ages 3, 6, and 9 years old and it was 5 days till Christmas. I was so upset but I had to have surgery that day. My husband and I didn't know how we were going to get them presents that year. He spent what he could and got them a few things but I felt sorry for them and was very distraught. Well when I woke up Christmas morning, my room was filled with presents for my children and there was a small tree in my room too. The presents were provided by all the nurses and doctors all over the hospital. I have never felt as grateful as I did that morning. That ended up being a wonderful Christmas. That was the best act of kindness I have ever seen.
nobody has ever done anything for me.
i had to do it all myself..
I was standing in the rain, soaked, and someone offered to give me their umbrella for keeps.
My manager at work is awesome. She always lets me take time off of work to take care of my kids when they're not feeling well. But the best part is that I never have to deduct it from my hours.
show me listening is important to any relationship.

I got my bike handlebars through my leg as a result of a bad jump. someone gave me some painkillers which did not work, then another orderly came and gave me some general anaesthetic, and he knew he would face a tribunal for it, but saw how much pain I was in. Best thing anyone ever done for me.
Listening. And probly the time my cat died and my best freind got me a stuffed animal cat so that it would never die on me.
My family was stranded on the side of a busy highway one weekend coming back from a theme park that was miles away from where we live. This nice truck driver came by and took us to our exit we were an hour and a half maybe two hours from home. And he gave us some good advice on the trip home.

Prostrate him/her immediately.
I went on hajj to Makkah (I'm an English Muslim) and lost my husband in the mosque. I was pregnant (but you couldn't tell, I was only 10 weeks) and had no bag, no money. We agreed that if lost we would meet outside KFC just outside the main mosque (yes there is KFC in Makkah. And Mcdonalds too). I waited there but he obvioulsy couldnt make it, there are 3 million people and they're praying, the Friday sermon is on and he can't push his way out. And so many people came by and gave me bottles of water, the KFC guy gave me some food and juice, the guy from the ice cream shop gave me an ice cream. No-one even spoke English, they were from all over the world, and it just felt so special to be part of the brotherhood of humanity. Thanks to all who helped! When my husband came I asked him to pay the KFC and ice cream but they wouldnt let him.
My friend organised me a suprise birthday party, which was amazingly kind. Also my sister is always kind to me, if I get stuck on homework she reads up on the subject and explains it all to me!
listening to me instead of blowing me off,and telling me to leave the alone cause they have there problems,i know there mad but maybe i want to listen to them as will.the best of kindness someone has shown me was listening.
My father-in-law was at his office working and he called me to pick him up some french fries from this local cafe and bring them to him because I was already out getting me some lunch. I went inside and they didn't take debit cards, all I had was a check. The cashier said that he didn't want me to have to write a check for just a few dollars so he gave them to me for free. Now that is unheard of these days.
My mum died 3 months ago, for the last few years she kept telling me that when she died I was to go into her wardrobe cos there was a present for me. The day she died she told me to go and get my present.. it was a little crystal guardian angel. I cant believe that as she got older she was thinking of me being left alone and wanted me to have something. I will cherish it forever.
When I left an oppressive and abusive relationship some people took me in and gave me a place to live and fed me and took care of me. I would do the same for anyone else, no matter what.
Lived in the city for 9 yrs. during which , everyday I bought the newspaper from one street vendor and always handed him a few extra bobs.
I was depressed after losing my job and also broke.
On the Sunday, I walked passed the vendor without stopping to buy.
He raced after me , a block away , and handed me the Sunday paper.I was perplexed and told him that I did not want the paper & had no money. He was insistent, shoved the paper in my hands, and walked away saying : I will cover it ,you can pay me when you have the money.
===>>> I responded to an advert in that paper and landed the best job that put my career on a rollercoaster ride (mind you with a newspaper group). =====<<<<<
The long and short of this act is :-
The cover price of the newspaper was 3 rands.
The average daily tip was around 1 rand.
Commisiion on sale was 5 cents / unit.
Despite his disposition , this giant of a man , had sacrificed his menial earnings on making me happy.
I had the good fortune of questioning him in later months.
I was told that over the nine yrs that I had patronised him - he had accumulated R 2438,00 from me in tips.
This in turn had paid his tuition fees and he had graduated that April.
I hired him in the marketing dept. ( Today he's one of the Big Guns in the print media & we're still friends).
There's good in everyone.
