Is the media to blame for americanised english culture? a culture many people hate?

The answer is obvious. I feel to answer "no" is denying what's obvious.
The damaging effects are not only to the english or other europeans, asians too.
But some seem to approve it.
Yes, because they demonised it, and Kids will pick up on anything that gets demonise by adults.
But these things only seem to go "bad" in England. Kids here in Italy wear hoodies, and shades, and they think they look really cool. But they do not seem to feel the need to adopt the aggressive posturing and violence that American and British kids feel is an essential part of the culture.
Most definately, but its all media not just TV. Think about the game Grand Theft Auto (i like it still) but it has caused a lot of chavs on the streets. Much like RnB music, solely made to show how great it is to be a gangster and shoot people and get women. The day i stopped listening to popular music was when i saw that 50 Cent album cover with him holding a baby and a gun.

The media merely reflects what is going on in the world. The world is getting smaller and the US is a big player They have no vested interest in promoting one culture over another ( indeed there is a disadvantage ). I live in India where you will hear Hindlish spoken.a fantastic combination of 30's style English, Americanism and Hindi.
English "kids" saying "wicked" and and Indian "kids" saying "Mom" is preferable to a world of "blame" and "hate" for others.
There are many theories that explaine the influence of mass media to a person's perception of the world: mass media set the agenda and cultivate certaina values. So if a person see american world every day he/she tend to believe that th world is really so.
Also besides media I would add advertising that aften shows american way fo life as cool.
