I don't think it's immature to have a sense of humour. But there is a time for everything. If you act like a cretin while being shouted at by your mother, you're an imbecile. Being mature means finding the balance between fun (whatever you're into) and serious stuff (whatever you have to do)

I had a great water balloon fight with my 8 year old son last night, then we waltzed around the kitchen humming silly tunes before he went to bed.
