Female persons.......
If you are over 18, would you prefer to be called a girl, lady, woman or some other thing?
Answers:
A lady. It's a term of etiquette. To me, lady means you are more mature then a woman. A girl is too young and immature.
a girl, im 34 and im offended if someone calls me a woman. women are old and boring
An lady or young woman, as a girl refers to young and just the gender .
Woman. Coz I dont think that I have the genteelity in my personality to be called a Lady. However, there have been days when I have been called a lady and it feels damn good.
a woman, means mature, responsible and a woman is meant to be very womanly
out of the choices, lady.girl sounds like a child and woman can sound disrespectful. But most of all, I'd just rather be called by my first name.
I hate being called a woman, lady doesn't appeal to me much and 'girl' is just fine with me
i'm 29 and still depends on whos talking to me. i mean to those older than me i still a girl or young lady but in general terms i'm a woman
They have different connotations; woman is fine, lady is nice.
I prefer to be called a woman. A lady sounds sissy and old fashioned - it drives me mad when golfers talk about 'lady golfers'. We are all women!
it doesn't matter to me. personally i don't buy into all the proper ettiqute b/s..but then i've always been one to go against the grain cause i dont' want to be like everyone else..so...i dont' care what you call me.
I don't mind being called girl, or lady, but I HATE being called woman.
A lady. It sounds more cultured and respectful than girl or even woman.
a girl is for under 18..a young lady is 18-25..a woman is 25+...however, the term lady represents how you conduct and handle yourself and is meant as a sign of respect..at work, I am "MS." PEACE&LOVE...yeah, right..lol
Girl makes me sound younger, but lady makes me sound older and more proper.
I prefer woman. Lady sounds like an uptight librarian to me, and a girl is a child.
I don't care what you want, I'am an old cowboy an I alway's address a woman as MA'AM,
I'm a gal :) a lady goes with a knight or is very polite and older than you and a woman is horrible. like you say that girl, if you just mean any female, you say that lady if she's nic, polite and older than you and you say that woman when you're annoyed or angry :)
it depends on who is saying it- i take no offense to being called any of these- just please don't call me "Dude"! (it's Dudette, thank you)

A lady, it sounds so much nicer.
GIRL!
Woman sounds old!
Lady sounds like ur back in the 50's
I'm not too fussed but probably prefer girl. Lady sounds posh. It makes me feel weird if people call me a lady because I associate ladies with manners and etiquette, etc. of course I have manners but I'm not posh or anything, I like to know I can burp in public!
Woman sounds a bit harsh. Often I think people, men in particular, use it in insults or when they are being rude.
So girl is the best for me! Although I'm not much of a girl, maybe a ladette, no that sounds like you take drugs and have unsightly tattoos on your unsightly fat belly. Oh I dunno, let's stick to girl for now.
