Which came first cynical pessimists or the Daily Mail?
It appears that cynics and gloomy peesimists who dream of the 'good old days' tend to read the Daily Mail. Do they read it beacsue they are cynics or does reading the DM turn people into cynics?
Answers:
Leave cynical pessimists alone! We need love too! The Daily Mail is much worse than any cynic can dream of. It is a Nazi slime filter that hates and hates and hates. I gather that the (female) editor is know for being extremely right wing and makes Dame Shirley Porter look like she reads the Internationalist. It exaserbates and amplifies social anxieties in order to manipulate otherwise reasonable people into hating everything not "British" 35 pages of Nazi filth. Who needs toilet paper when we have the Mail?
LMAO great Q - in my case my mother buys it so it is read for my own amusement whenever I visit..
Comic I think should be the category it should be placed under in the newsagents and no comment can ever describe the DM more accurately than Paul O'Grady's 'The daily mail - or Mein Kampf as I like to call it!'
Cynical pessimists have been around since long before paper was invented. I think you could probably work toward a more accurate description of Daily Mail readers - calling them cynics and pessimists really denigrates cynics and pessimists.
Let's face it, Daily Mail readers are just a bunch of Nazis! That newspaper is like Mein Kampf with pictures!
I studied the relationship between the press and the public for sociology coursework. I think people choose the press that is most attractive to them (so if you're a Nazi you'll choose the Daily Mail, if you're open-minded and intelligent you'll choose The Guardian or The Independent, if you're intelligent and a centrist you'll read The Times, if you're living in the nineteenth century you'll choose The Telegraph, and if you're a total scum bag you'll choose The Sun/Mirror/Star/Sport) and their views are then reinforced by the news media they read.
I'm cynical but the Daily Mail is the last newspaper I'd ever read.
