It's the human innate response when it comes to attraction, at least for most humans.
for the love of heterosexual sex!

Do you mean as opposed to being attracted to same sex, or do you mean why are some more interested or prone to attraction of opposite sex than others? The former is to do with numbers, the latter hormones.
Gays are notorious bad ironers. It is for the fresh starch and perfect creases.

because we evolved to be straight. it's practical for the species to survive. homosexuality is useless and extraneous to our being..and so i don't believe it's natural

Seriously, I really don't know. I'm not attractive nor particularly clever or funny. My body's no great shakes. But I'm forever getting come-ons and offers (of a genuine nature).
