Do you think a person can repress sexual thoughts?
I mean I remember a while back in college I always changed the subject or went quiet when my friends would ask me about gilrs and which girls I liked and so forth.what if a person were to go through his whole life like that.
Answers:
A person can but usually do not want to:P
Yes. But it is unhealthy.
Obviously. Its an entirely healthy and normal thing to do.
I spend a fair amount of time blotting such things out. I'm probably going to continue doing it for the rest of my life.. Sexual matters are instinctual. 100% . and as self-aware beings, we are capable of identifying and defying instinct.
. Its not as difficult as it used to be though. I've got a system for it now, and since I'm now an adult rather than a teenager (which is when I learnt how), I'm rather more adept at dealing with such situations.
Besides.. its been about 11 months since I last had sex with anyone. and I wouldn't be perfectly alright with that if I couldn't repress sexual thoughts. Since I can.. then I am... alright, that is.
i think he would end up regretting it. sexual thoughts are totally natural you can't control them and shouldn't try and repress them. i would you go and see a counsellor to talk about your feelings and look at helping you embrace them. whither you like girls or guys doesn't matter what matters is your mental health and wellbeing and being confident about who you are.
i can't after all my years
I think your a big t.it. Listen its morning and i need milk. I never slept last night i was too busy whacking off too the beatles. I was wondering can you come over and feel my left as.s cheek. I was thinking of you rubbing your as.s hole over my nose so i could get an experimental essence of your feces. Also i would like you to report me and tell yahoo i'm a sexy beast with man boobs and i spray my love juice on your face 6 times a day. I just want your rusty sherifs badge baby RAWR
Those thoughts can be repressed and repression usually occurs when a bad experience is assiciated to the thoughts being repressed. It does not mean that the person will necessarily have to go through their whole life like that. The person needs to understand why the thoughts are being repressed and therapy might help with this. Then when the reason for it is understood, the issue needs to be addressed and the represion should no longer happen.
We all are taught early on to suppress our sexual thoughts and urges ( especially girls) but eventually we learn to deal with them. Sex is considered taboo and as teenagers, it's almost sinful to be thinking about sex, although that's when our hormones are raging! Coupled with self consciousness about body image and mostly ignorance about how sex in general works, we tend to either ignore the matter or learn to live with it. I don't think we ever really get over it but we can usually function around it.
Now, it becomes a problem when we completly block out any sexual feelings and associate them with something bad. Then, we usually have problems being intimate with someone. Talking with a therapist could help you overcome that.
Everybody thinks of sex everyday
It would be sad-unless you are gay and then I imagine you would think about men.
Sex is a big part of life, a good part too, it'd be a shame to miss out.
Technically speaking you can repress just about anything. It isn't always healthy though. I'd speak to a doctor and make sure everything is functioning as it should. Then if everything is ok, I'd check out therapy.
it is possible to do that but if you are a guy then you have to be very strong willed as all things in life lead to sex these days, i think it is easier if you are a girl as there isn't so much pressure and most girls have a lower sex drive than men anyway.
Well of course some people have done just that. But sexual repression usually pops out in some other strange way...it has to be expressed some way.
Some scholars have said the genius Leonardo da Vinci may have suppressed his sexual desires for most or all of his life.
And a study of mass-murderers or child-molesters might also reveal different, disturbing ways a sexual urge can emerge.
Usually it is better not to repress, to seek help, to express your sexual urges as long as they are not antisocial (i.e. sadistic or paedophile) or to get professional help in accepting your sexual nature and learn how to deal with it.
Hey, hold on there. I think you should think not about repressing or suppressing your sexual thoughts, rather you should take control of them. Like any other subject in the lexicon of human emotion and psyche, they can get out of control if left to rot in the sewers of your baser feelings. Contrary to both church and popular libertine ideals, sex is natural, wholesome and GOOD. |t should be accepted as a very special and real part of human life, cherished and exhaulted. It is neither sinful nor wrong but neither should it be treated as merely a way to procreate nor simple fun. There are other peoples emotions and bodies at stake here, not to mention the possibility of new life !!
No problem.
It is possible but the reasons might be:
1. you do not feel you are ready for it.as you feel something is not wrong with your body
2. you are preserving it for someone special and you never get them and eventually you lose interest in sex.
P.S: watch 40 year old virgin movie!
That is not repressing sexual thoughts, that is just deliberately avoiding to answer the question.
Sexual repression is forcing down sexual feelings, desires and needs. A good example would be Priest, Nuns, Monks and The Pope!
