What's the difference between schizoid personality and autismtic spectrum disorders?

Answers:
Well . they aren't really that similar. Autism, for one, must begin before the age of 3, and is characterized by serious disturbances in social interactions and communication. They also engage in odd patterns of behaviour that can be repetitive and restrictive (like hand or finger flapping). In most case, autism is also accompanied by at least some moderate mental retardation.

People with schizoid personality disorder are basically show a pattern of detachment from social relationships and a very limited range of emotions in interpersonal situations. They don't seem to really enjoy or desire closeness with other people. Not really the same thing as autism, since they do react to other people, and are aware they are there, where in autism, children will often not respond to other people at all. Typically, this disorder develops much later in life than autism as well.

Hope this helps ^_^
a person with a schizoid personality would correct his spelling mistakes whereas an autistic spectrum disorder sufferer wouldn't. in most cases the schizoid would report the autism spectrum suffer for a violation for correcting the mistak.
