What are the strengths and weknesses of clinical psychology?

Strengths: diagnosis for treatment, better understanding of behaviours
Weaknesses: misdiagnosis leading to wrong treatment, not enough information provided on patient, patients often lie

Clinical shrinks usually require more therapy then patients.
I think it is all bad. We were not meant to have a doctor testus and come up with names for our personalities.
cognitive behavioural therapy CBT, has been used positively in eating disorders ie anorexia and bulimia and over eaters.....I've been to a few conferences....I think in metal health, when theres no apparent SMI then clinical psychology can be an alternative therapy to deal with anxiety, personality disorders, OCD and pain therapy....i believe in collaborative working and the multi disciplinary approach, so for me clinical psychology can be a positive and rewarding aspect in any team

It's based on assumptions of what should be normal behaviour. What 'IS' 'Normal'? We all have to be put in a box with a label on by it.
