Why,when you dial a freephone number, do you get through to your contact with amazing speed,?

but then have to use a 0807 number do you have endless electronic lists to go through, and always, the annoying your call is important to us!" and then wait for the operator to have his/her lunch! before connecting you. Do you think this has anything to do with "money".

Answers:
Maybe its because there is no such thing as a free phone number,so someone always pays. Its just that what we know as a freephone number is paid for by the company/person you are calling and thats probably why its dealt with much quicker. With other numbers you yourself is paying and so the company/person you are calling doesnt care as they arent picking up the bill
Yes.
Get over it it's not that long ago that you would hve had to send a letter and wait for a reply.
It is because the people on the end of freephone numbers are in fact paying for you to call them so thus they obvious care about your custom more and dont want you to wait a long time as that would reduce customer satisfaction and reduce risk or you returning to there company.

Whereas on the other hand the premium rate number, you are paying to speak to them and they feel, you are willing to pay to speak to them for their service so why should they improve if you are already happy with their service.
