Does anyone know what the main contributions of humanistic psych are?

In an earlier job, I sold college text books and encountered all sorts of types of psychologists. Of those, I found the humanistic psychologist way out on a limb, missing reality all total.
For what they say about themselves, look up Esalen Institute on Google and I don't know if West Georgia College (or university now, I guess) is still in the Humanistic Mode, but that was a bit center also.
I think they are bunch of whaccos.
