A young man got on the bus this morning with a mug of coffee (yes, a ceramic mug, not one of those from?

those coffee place take-aways. He sat with it so proudly as the steam was coming away from it and starting to look round at everyone on the bus and smiling. Why did he do this? He sat with it in such a way that he wanted his mug from home to be noticed or something? Was he looking for some kind of reaction?

Answers:
Yep - the man's a tw*t. There's a slight chance he was doing it as a bet, but probably more than likely he's just a tw*t. He's the type of person who wear novelty ties and thinks he's crazy - and you know he probably thinks he's the office joker when in fact everyone just wants him to fall out of the high-rise window.
maybe he was just a happy guy. were you jealous of his mug? you seem to be.
.what?
Maybe he was just content to bring a piece of home along with him.

Considering that a mug is something you can wash and reuse again and again, and not just some disposable cup to be thrown away, I commend him for his environmental consciousness.
Probably proud to be breaking the rules. Or, remember, the bus has an inordinate amount of mentally unstable people because they aren't allowed to drive.
Regardless he got it...you say people were looking and you thought of it enough to mention it here..
weather he was looking for a reaction or not.he got one out of YOU.
People are people and maybe that was just his unique way of trying to be friendly..with a smile.
Maybe he had just gotten some good news? Who knows.I would just appreciate it for what it was.a friendly smile.
Why do you care? You're riding a bus. You're gonna see stuff that is out there every day on a bus. I mean come on, I've riden a bus all over the country and I always see some crazy stuff.
How wonderful to enjoy lifes simple pleasures, such as that. Bravo for him. A nice hot cup of home made brew..Did you want some? Was probably what he was thinking.if he was being ogled.
Maybe he was just proud of his mug, or maybe he was a complete loon?
i think he is a very cool man and he really has guts to do what he wishes for.
you are jealous!
Tsk, tsk, it is so obvious. He had coffee, therefore he was happy. I would say the reaction he wanted from others was a smile.
.MR. BEAN ?
I saw that guy too. You forgot to mention that he was naked.
The bus may be serving as an extension of his home environment. Did he put it to good use, ie did he consume the coffee? There are more efficient ways of keeping drinks warm.
you must be from the west coast !, perhaps he was in a good mood and wanted to share that good mood and his favorite mug with the world, yet you act as though it's a crime {common for the west coast} i got the same treatment when i lived in san diego and my bike broke down and i had to ride the bus to work, but even so i was in a good mood when i got on the bus, and being polite {a strange concept for west coasters i know}, said in a joyful manner "good morning", and the response was people cowering in theur seats as if i was an axe murderer about to kill them, just because i dared speak to them, such cowardly sheep. that's when i decided to come back to the midwest, where people may not trust you, but are still polite, and not cowardly !, so please remember that your actions affect others moods, weather it be positive or not !
This site is full of people who are really bored at work.haha
Was the mug a present from his girlfriend with "Worlds Greatest Lover" written on it.
It could of been that he was running late for work so he decided to take his coffee, along with him..some people are not afraid to be themselves regardless of how bazaar their actions seem to other people...to be free in every aspect of their lives...that's a good thing sometimes.
Oh god. I'm sure he thought it was cool to be quirky. I'm also sure he thought he was the first person that's ever been "daring" enough to have done that. Seriously, he most likely didn't have enough time to put it in another container so he was trying make the best of it and turn into a wacky story to tell his friends.
i had a guy shuffle up to me once talking to his orange gloves about getting it on with my orange hat.it takes all sorts to make a world.;0)
