The clinical name for a dominant parent who uses punishment and reward to control their child?

she could be called a 'control freak' as she is always right and tries to manipulate everyone and everything she comes in contact with. She would like to isolate her children and try to brain wash them.

Answers:
Ummm.. try NORMAL

Does she really want to isolate them and brain wash them or just protect them from the liberal crap YOU want to teach them?
A good parent
an abuser.
sadistic and insecure comes to mind. i am not sure that this parent will fit into one clinical name.
Your mummy made you tidy up your room? Good for her!! I hope you did a good job.
ohoh. if i was your mother i think i better lock up all the knives and guns
It depends what the punishment and rewards were. If it was non-physical then it's good parenting.
A good parent
Kids needs to be shown how to act, believe it or not they aren't biologically capable of making rational decisions till they are at least 18, sometimes even 21.

children needs a strict routine but they also need to be allowed to test them this is so they can learn. Are you sure it is bad as you say? She probally is a good mother trying to teach her children the rights and wrongs of life.
A parent MUST have a certain amount of control over there kids, to mould them in a certain direction.Depends how strict strict is i guess. But a 'typical' abuser cuts off the abused sources of strength , i.e. people, friends, and freedom of thought.A child should also have the freedom of thought to develop rights and wrongs in his/her own mind, not have it forced upon them, therefore not allowing there personality develop.
punishment and reward is the best way to teach a child about consequences, and a person (mother or otherwise) only argues and insists on points they think are right.. whats the point in persisting once you know you are wrong. i think most people manipulate, and parents have to to a certain extent. if you were really isolated and brain washed. you wouldn't know about it so you wouldn't be writing this question, the fact that you are allowed the privacy to go on the net and post this question shows that you have a certain amount of freedom.

no parent is perfect.. they just do the best they can with the children they have within their circumstances in an effort to balance having a good childhood as well as preparing for adulthood.
You're looking for "authoritarian".

Incidentally, sorry to the people above, but this parenting style is correlated with more trouble later on. The BEST parenting style as far as healthy, adaptive children produced, is authoritative. They still inforce rules and all that, but they're also more nurturing than an authoritarian. And they are more likely to dialogue with their children. "What would be some good rules" or "These are the rules, and here's why" instead of "These are the rules because I said so".
Ohhhh . that makes me a 'control freak'. But then i made the conscious decision to brainwash my child before the media and the rest of society did it for me. Not sure what you mean with isolation though. And the truth is, woman are usually right.
a childish bully and a pain in the neck. autocratic comes to mind.
