yes. it may be considered a "softer science" but it definately still a science. we run experiements according to the scientific method and we publish our results so that knowledge can be tested, replicated, and approved upon.
Yes, it is a social science.
Behavioral Psychology is - it utilizes the scientific method, data collection and statistics and focuses on observable behaviors. Other areas of Psychology (Freudian theories, for example) are more 'art' than science.
It can be where it uses scientific methods of investigation, for example cognitive or behavioural psychology. The psychoanalytic theories of Freud and Jung are perhaps better described as philosophy.
anything with "ology" on the end is considered a science. Psycology is a social science and is in the same category as sociology and strangely Geography..
Yes it is!! It is the science of human behaviour!

Psychology - Scientific study of human behavior, mental processes, and how they are affected and/or affect an individuals or group's physical state, mental state, and external environment. It's goal is to describe, understand, predict, and modify behavior.

:-)
No it is not, it is social science. You may hear much to the contrary, but ask yourself, if psychology is a science why is it not in the science halls of universities? Ask scientists what they think of psychology and you will find the answer informative. I know psychologist pretend to science, but Scientology has "ology" on it's back end. Does that make it a science? Use your own judgment and do not be swayed by pseudo-scientifically, ideological driven social scientists.
The guy above me is so wrong. It is regarded as a science, along with sociology and biology.
Yes it is, it consists of many behavioural experiments. For instance take conditional experiments of Ivan Pavlove on his dog. Besides this other experimenters do on rats paigon or on other animals to study their behaviour.
It is because it tests theories and has an outcome, however there is never a true answer so it can't be truely classed as a science.
