Water shortages, global warming. There is another way of looking at this problem. What do you think?
I recently read an article about the critical water shortages in Asia and Africa.
There are 6 billion people on this planet. The human body is 80% water. If we assume that the average weight of the 6 billion is 50kg. This means that each of the 6 billion are carrying 40 litres (40kg by weight, ie 80% of body mass) of water. So 240 Billion litres of water is out of circulation from the environment and retained by humans.
This is not even considering the amount of water we use indirectly for irrigation, industry, animal farming, etc. I suspect this would more than double that figure.
Answers:
Actually something is being done about it.
In Singapore, waste water is being recycled and fed back to the population; it's called newwater, and is said to be 'too pure' in fact.

This might be the way forward to overcome water shortages.
Remember waterworld with Kevin Costner?
His water recycling device was more radical and quite portable.
Eventually the same could be done from animals.
Furthermore may be the next generation of genetic engineering will focus on animals with low water consumption.
However, this will not affect global warming much. The potential disasters with global warming have to do with our 'efforts' at pollution, deforestation. and rapidly changing weather patterns.
Even population control would not help (it would help the water issue)because even if we have fewer people, we will want more, so production will keep increasing, so will pollution, deforestation. . and the globe will still get warmer.
What is needed is a change in mindset.
So your suggestion is.?
I'm impressed that you looked into this problem they way you did. But where are you going with this? Surely you're not suggesting that we dehydrate millions of humans and animals in order to replenish the earth are you?

I wasn't trying to be sarky. I'm serious. You gave us an issue that you have put alot of thought into but have not given any solution to the problem. You are right, there are loads of selfish and self-centered humans, but that doesn't mean that we can stop consuming water lest we all die. So what do you propose be done to correct this problem?
We need farming and irrigation in order to produce the food that we consume. However, I have read that loads of food is cropped and then dumped into the ocean because of embargos and not enough consumption. Industry, I have always believed, is way out of control and over-productive.
But again, you stated that "240 billion litres of water is out of circulation from the environment and retained by humans.". With that NOT consisting of the amounts of water used for produce and industry, what do you propose that humans do OUTSIDE of taking care of the issue as it pertains to industry?
Unfortunately, it is not just the industrial use of precious water but the pollution that these industries are creating in the water that we humans need to consume for survival.
Do you think that maybe some of the chemicals being dumped into our reseviours are in any way causing a more rapid evaporation of the water? Not just in the lakes and streams but also in the atmosphere where their gases are released?
global warming dosent exist, but on a different subject, ur answer to the question of the best military unit in the world was the israli special forces and that the british lady who asked it was biest and wrong. well infact YOU are wrong. the israli special forces and israil for that matter would not exist with out the U.S. and our allies. American and British special forces are the best in the world hands down. if it werent for the training and money we send to isrial it would be palistine or part of iran or something.
When did the UK switch to decimal money?
Do Americans have an Ar se fixation?
Somewhere over.?
Who do you think was the real Jack the Ripper ?
Can you answer a rhetorical question?
will my life cover pay out if i kill myself?
I used to shop a lot when I'm feeling down.Could anyone explain to me why am I doing it?
is money moral or immoral?
