Is skill all in the mind?
I'm asking this, because Ive seen confident people do things theyve never done before, and do well, and vice versa seen unconfident people do badly at something theyve done many times before. Maybe thinking you can makes you able to do thing? Something for the followers of positive belief

I agree with what you say. Skill is there in the mind. But sometimes the presence of mind is not there and one ends up goofing up even ordinary jobs. The application of mind and the skill combined with core competencies proves that the job at hand will be carried out smoothly and effectively.
duh
i agree in you.its in the mind.
i meet people like you have mentioned and i don't like them, i want to kick their face by skills race.
sorry.
Skill is mainly mental. I lay tile for a living and to do it well, you must be a perfectionist. Too many hacks and DIY's know exactly what to do, but rush it and do not take extra care to make sure everything is perfect.
I think it's all in the mind, I mean aren't we using our minds when we talk, type, and write? If the mind is convienced that we can do these things, then we could try to do them.to some extent..the body also needs to be in shape to do the physical activites.
I don't think it's ALL in the mind but certainly a great deal of it. If you think you can do something you will give it a better effort than if you do not think that you can do it.
Skill is an ability to do something.
Confidence comes from the knowledge that you have the ability (or believe you have the ability) to do something.
Therefore, i would turn you thoery around and say that the natural ability to do things gives people confidence, not the other way round.
I do think alot of it is in the mind but you have to have the right kind of head in the first place. I think alot of people can try and blag skill so they are very good at making you believe in them a bit like a sales person (which is their skill) but I do think everyone is naturally talented/skilled at different things
most people have to learn a skill.
then there are people who are born with the ability to do anything.
then there are people who cant do anything,so it can not be all in the mind, unless the latter are cheating, which of course could be possible.
