What is media liberalization. What are its pros and cons?

Answers:
MEdia liberalization refers to media becoming free and independent vis-a-vis centralized or government controlled media.
The cons are that as such, media may play into the interests of owners/interests groups and lose objectivity.
The pros are that it improves government accountability, since they are not owners of the media monopoly, they have to embark into coherent policies, diminish corruption, etc.
Liberalized media: Western Europe, North America.
Government controlled media: Cuba, Zimbabwe
Liberalizing media: Ukraine since the orange revolution (according to Financial Times' tuesday issue).
Rubbish question - do you mean Liberalisation of the "content" e.g tips on blow jobs and thongs in teen magasines, or do you mean liberalisation as in "trade" i.e. not state subsidised media.
The so called "liberal media" is a term used often in mainstream media channels such as Fox News and CNN. It is also a favorite phrase of such hatemongers as Bill O'Reily.

These are the very people who want to control all news and information received by the average person. The mass media controlled by government organizations and right wing nut jobs tries to make you think that there is a problem in our society caused by "liberals" and their "agendas". These people (or corporations) are actually doing a great job of convincing Americans of this non-existent problem in order to further control the views of the majority by making them feel more American, etc by listening to these, the actual biased, news organizations.

Remember when the American people heard the truth that there never were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? What did Bush (and other gov't officials) do? They suddenly began holding press conferences on gay marriage.Embarrassing as it is, this tactic worked as if the voting public were a bunch of pre-schoolers with A.D.D.

Change the focus, change the news, control the masses.

What would happen if more of the media was liberal? The American public would learn the truth about U.S.and foriegn affairs. People would begin to think for themselves instead of taking for the truth what they are spoon fed.

Death for the Republican and corporate agendas!! So they constanly complain of the "liberal media" and it's false news to try and stop it before too many people pay attention.

If the media were actually legally allowed to be liberal (which has been effectively outlawed by the powers that be), educated people would make educated decisions.

A liberal media would actually only be a media (radio, t.v., etc) with freedom of speech and the right to ask questions and demand answers. Oh the horrors! Instead of watching our president chop wood, we would be exposed to real news.

A thinking and questioning America is too great a threat to Republican control.

Don't you feel cheated? Or do you believe what the real "right wing media" shoves down our throats?
Pros..we can make informed decisions and have a say in our government.

Cons..our children might learn to think for themselves or even, gulp, listen to both sides of an issue and maybe become compassionate, educated adults.

whew, sorry, I obviously have quite an opinion on that one!
No idea, I have always thought that different radio stations, newspapers, TV stations etc all had theor own personal slant on things anyway. And they are not always liberal.
