i spent a year living in Bristol, david attenboroughs home town and where he still lives, so i naturally pressumed that one day i would bump into him, so i spent an entire year carrying around in my rucksack his MEGA book "life of plants" ready for him to sign. i never bumped into him and that bloody rucksack weighed a ton!!

He's a legend in his own right! He's earned the respect that he has got and a true inspiration to a lot of people! the Guy needs more than just Knighting! He's a brilliant man and everyone, even if you dont like anilmals, should admire his courage and strenght in everything that he has done!
"The best guy", there is only one that has trod the earth and was without sin and that was the Lord Jesus Christ. That's a no brainer was there something else here?

Met him last year - a true gent and an inspiration.
I would not go that far.. he knows his stuff.. just like any other professional..! .I think you need to "Un-plug" mate.. He is just a man that has a great team backing him up.. AKA Austin Stevens / The late Steve Irwin ( RIP). All it takes is "Talent" and the ability to "Talk the Talk". nuff said

Best is subjective. He's a great presenter. The programs he produces are informative and brilliantly shot. I'm a big fan but can't help wishing the gorillas would have hurt him a little that time - it would just have been so much more televisual.
I don't know about the best guy ever, but he's a simply incredible human being. He's probably responsible for the ecological and zoological education of a goodly number of people on the planet, bravo to him for advancing the cause!
(Yes, I know he doesn't make his programmes singlehandedly, but he carries the shows and *he* is the guy that everybody knows about.)
