What make him unique he was hiding a secret which was discovered when he died it was discovered that he had a damaged retina which means he was fighting with one eye. He is believed by many ring historians to be one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in history - if not the greatest. He was also light heavyweight champion and had a famous fight with Gene Tunney who was heavyweight. Greb annihilated him
My top 8:
Robinson
Hagler
Monzon
D. Tiger
Jones
Griffin
Hearns
R. Valdez
I believe that the term "Greatest Boxer" should be limited to a boxer's weight class. I'm sure some will disagree. Sugar Ray Robinson is widely accepted as the greatest middleweight of all time. I do believe that Sugar Ray Leonard (as a middleweight) or Marvin Hagler (in his prime) could have beaten him. If you have to compile a list of boxers from different weight classes then Ali would easily top most everyone's list. He's proven that he is "The Greatest" of all time. Just watch the fight where he puts "Big" George Foreman on his butt!
