Is micheal schumacher a legend or just a cheat and a bad loser?

Answers:
you said it: a cheat and a bad loser

and extremely lucky for always having a great car while the opposition did not

and a whining g-i-t for always wanting technology banned that Ferrari didn't have
all three.
How do you cheat in racing? Does he take a shortcut on the track like in Mario Kart. Does he jump over the mushroom field to find the secret shortcut?
A bit of both if that's ok. I think he was a legend but the past couple of seasons i've had no time for him.
Schumacher is the greatest driver of all time.

He may use some underhand tactics sometimes but he is no cheat.

Alonso, now he is a bad loser!
He is all three but mainly a bad loser
great question dude ...all 3

O ..btw do i get the 10 for the creepy way i overliked your Q ?
I think he is the best driver I have ever seen. Is he a bad loser and a cheat? Probably. To be the best you tend to have to have a certain do or die, winner takes all, ruthless streak. Nice guys don't always finish last, but they are more often in the middle somewhere than at the top.
micheal schumacher is a legend without a shadow of a doubt - his record in formula 1 says it all!
He's had far too much support around him in the past few years, I don't know of any other driver that's had so much help to win championships. And we all know how Ferrari practically own F1 at the moment and write the rules as they see fit, or so it would seem anyway. I wonder if Max Mosely drives a Ferrari?
I'm italian, and I really hate "Shumy", as here that ***** is called. He is conceived, unpleasant and ugly as the sin. He never learned a word in italian, neither "Ciao". And I don't think he is sooo great. I'm really glad he finally leave my country, that stupid bastard. And I would like to have some italian on the Ferrari, like Fisichella.
he has been all of those things at varies stages of his career. sadly i think he'll mainly be remembered for the bad things he did & not as the greatest driver of his generation

to the person above me you obviously never saw the movie "cars" as schumacher speaks fluent italian in that!
To cheat once is enough to cheat more is too much a good loser never cheats
Michael Schumacher is not only a cheat & bad loser he is also a GERMAN cheat & bad loser
He has to be all three,

Legend because he has dominated the sport for sooo many year

Cheat - because he bends the rules as far as he can so he can win a sign of a true sportsman, but never quiet breaking (look at the crash on Damon Hill

Bad loser - He never wants to lose or he wouldn't care about the sport, just look how excited he still is every time he wins a GP
Michael Schumacher IS a great driver, but he is always going to be tainted by his desire to win at all costs.
For those people who say he has only achieved his success because he was in the best car, look at the facts. Hi first world championship was won whilst driving for benneton/Ford, and that was certainly not the best car on the track. His next championship was won whilst driving for Benneton/Renault, again not the best car when compared to Williams and McClaren.
When Schumacher joined Ferrari, the team was going nowhere, and living on its name, and long past achievements. Schumacher was heavily involved in the testing and the race design of the new Ferrari cars, and was largley responsible for turning their fortunes around.
It would be much fairer to say that by Michael Schumacher driving for a particular team, that car then became the best on the circuit. Look at the way he tested and concerntarated on details such as pit stop technique and race strategy.
In my opinion, he is THE best modern formula one driver, but his will to win sometimes made him do things he perhaps shouldn't have.
a cheat and a bad loser, this years f1 championship is fixed so that he can win it, the whole thing stinks.
u my friend, are just hating on a legend. ive watched the guy since he moved to ferrari in 96. he had a crappy *** car that never made it to the end. when it did, exactly 3 times that year, he won. no driver wouldve dreamt of winning in that pile of junk. he knew how to bring people around him together to work as a team. bad loser? yes, he is. but bottom line is, no one wants to lose. hes had some bad luck, not recently, but there were races that he lost due to bad luck that cost him championships. he didnt have the best car out of nothing. it all took hard work and in a sport like this to be the best u gotta match up somehow and few have been able to do that.
He's definitely all three. He has cheated before, (Damon Hill incident anyone?), and he has been a bad loser. He has slowed drivers down in qualifying sessions (Alonso anyone?).

But, he's also a legend. His statistics are simply amazing.
All three.
A legend because of his record, a cheat and a bad loser due to the actions which have tainted his career across the 16 years when he has driven in F1.
he is all 3 no doubt. but it is good to see hI'm retiring because its going to give some one else a chance saying that im no Micheal schumacher fan but i would like to see him retire world champ and i don't think f1 will be the same without him!
Schumacher is a phenominal driver, yes he uses tactics that maybe a bit out of line but his record says it all.
I don't get this! And I am not a big fan of his so don't take it the wrong way!

First off, he used to get steamrollered for being like an automon driving with such precision it was scary.

Then someone must have whispered in his ear, his wife perhaps? Anyway he started trying to act like a skelper. Cut a few drivers off from victory and very nearly from a long an healthy life. And that was wrong..!

Look the man clearly has autistic tendencies. He is so focused on the job at hand, has little or no social skills and rushes off home before the band has even stopped playing.

So of he is a legend , it is because the fans made him one. If he is a cheater and a bad loser, it is because that is what people told him to be.

Either way he retires, rich, intact and fairly young. Not bad eh?
Just try to drive over 200mph in the rain, Big balls Mike RULES F1 and is the best I have seen in years.
A driver thats breaking all records>Micheal Schumacher<
A legend he his, and I don't see anyone to break his record for a very long time. His tactic (reckless sometimes) to block, to pass, to drive in wet surface using smoother tires that got recognized as arrogance (sadly, he just too much of a Senna sometimes). However, he is a superb driver when he was on Benneton when he beat Damon Hill. He of course was great once he was transferred to Ferrari. His support team also has a lot to do with his success.

The attitude of win at all cost was a direct descend from Ayrton Senna. I can bet, if Senna is still alive and driving, Ayrton will crash with Schumi at least 5 times per year, and being labeled as a big jerk as Schumi is. There are lots of bad losers out there like Senna, Prost (especially toward each other, the best and the worst rivary I have ever seen), and Damon Hill (that dude is a really bad loser). Mansell is not a bad loser however, he is just constantly mad and running his foul mouth. Anyway, Schumi's bad loser behavior came when he lost to Hakkonen in 99 season. He was just a jerk to the Ferrari team toward the end of the season. Next season, when he got hurt, things got worse. Eddie Irvine, the second driver of Ferrari was on a roll when Schumi got hurt. He was the savior, the God to Ferrari team. Once Schumi came back, without being fully recovered, he wanted full attention again. That was really embarrassing I think.

As for cheater? No, I don't think so. If you are accusing him to cheat on a race? Please provide proofs. When he past Rubens Barrichello twice that was under the order of the team manager. The manager asked Barrichello to slow down in order for Schumi to pass. The team really spoiled Schumi and made him such a egocentric person during incidents like this. However, the second time when Barrichello was order to pulled over, Schumi pushed Rubens on to the top Podium. His action was fined by F1 for 1 million dollars in obstruction of podium procedure. If he was a cheater, he wouldn't even do it.

So he is a legend and a bad loser, but not a cheater.
Legend!! Name one person who can drive better in the rain!
I would have to say all 3. He kinda spoiled his record but great driver.
Just a cheat!!
micheal schumacher is the legend. How many other drives have

World Championship wins 7
World champion 1994,1995,2000,2001,2002,2003,.
Number of GP 244
Victories 89
Podiums 151
In the points 186
Pole positions 68
Fastest laps 74
All 3!! Yes, he is a great driver. Yes, his record is phenomenal. But how many times has he got away with things he shouldn't have? How many times has he cried like a baby when a decision goes against him? I respect him as a driver, he has gone a long way in campaigning for the safety of all drivers but that does not justify his stance to others at times. F1 will be a different place & sport without him. P.S. You can't judge a book by it's cover can you? If you do then you might miss out on a good book. Same here, just looking at facts is looking at a book by it's cover.
It is impossible to argue with the statistics. Going by them alone, Michael Schumacher is clearly the most successful F1 driver of all time. But statistics don't tell you everything. They do not tell you why Schumacher won the championship in 1994 by taking out Damon Hill. They say nothing about Schumacher attempting to take Jacques Villeneuve out at Jerez in 1997. Also, they are silent on the ridiculous attempt at ruining Fernando Alonso's qualifying lap by stupidly parking his car on the circuit at Monaco.

As if these terrible trangressions are not bad enough Schumacher and Ferrari have cynicaly manipulated the rules repeatedly. Eddie Irvine and Rubens Barrichello were both cruelly denied race wins so as to assist Schumacher on many occasions.

Schumacher is an outstanding driver, yes, but he is also terribly dishonest and a sore loser.
