My daughter injured her ankle while playing tennis .i would like to know how long will it take before she resu
she has got high ankle injury.she is able to walk but her physio has advised her not to put weight on the injured ankle
Answers:
It took me 4-6 weeks to get back after I sprained my ankle. Doctor told me to stay off it, elevate, ice and wrap it with Ace bandage. (RICE- rest, ice, compress, elevate). Get a good ankle support when she's getting back to play, it helps.
depends on how bad it is, its ok to put wieght on it, just dont jump up and down or anything, like walking around school won't hurt it any worse
dont put any weight on it for about a week. put ice on it if it swelled up. then slow start walking in it. but dont over do it. in time it will get better.
from experience.
And you really think that you will get a proper answer on here ?
A & E Dept ?
Did the physio not give you some idea ?
Doctor ?
ok - here goes
anything from one week to 18 months.
That's my best guess !
it would take about a week to heal.
my hubby did his ankle in and it took 6 weeks to start to heal, it depends on the injury, plus everybody heals at a different rate. ask the physio, hes the only one that will have real advice for your daughter
this depends. you dont say if it was lawn or table tennis
not putting weight on the ankle would sugest it will need time 2 heal. if u are talking 2 a physio then they should be able to give you a roungh awnser from what you have said i would say she can be back doin training in a couple of months. if you ask your physio they should be able to give u a program to heal the ankle and rebuild strength
It really depends on the type of injury, when i hurt my ankle it took about 3 months to heal and that because i ddin't stay off it, i kept on playing, once i went to the doctor and she told me not to go to school and to totally stay off it..the swelling went down and it healed totally about 3-4 weeks after.
your daughter has a physio? how old is she?!?
You either need to speak to your doctor or physio about this as I am not a doctor. My best guess is to wait until she says its better and cannot feel pain and still wait a few weeks after that just to make sure everything is healed properly.
about 3wks before ressumption . . ..
already injured my ankle too dut to tennis.. one of many injuries!! well it depends.. if its a tear it should take around 4-6 weeks!! depending on how bad the tear is.. ttry to move her ankle with your hands left and right to see if the tear is on the left or right( inside or outside) if she can't move it herself and really in pain and cant walk then it might be a big tear!! should rest a bit more than 6 weeks.. no sports at ALL. use some inflammatory gel daily.. physio should have already told u though.. hope it helps
