London to Brighton bike ride?
Has anyone any tips for a first timer. Im not sure how to start to train. And is there any special equipment I need (apart from a bike n helmet )

Aged 15 and having just cycled the south downs way, i can tell you what worked 4 me. I started off 2 evenings a week doing 1/2 hour rower, 1/2 hour cycle machine, on incrasing levels, and at the weekend, i went out once, doing an increasing distance, last september the most i've ever cycled was 12 miles, this september i think nothing of 50. The hardest thing to do is get your shorts on and get out there. Its tough at first but after a few miles you'll really begin to enjoy it. For a rapid increase in fitness excersize anerobically forshort periods.
If you are serious about continuing, i would suggest shimano pedals which clip into cycle shoes and a pair of cycle shoes, a pair of city or road tyres on your bike, and above all WICKING SHIRTS AND CYCLE SHORTS. No substitute for good equipment, and keep a log of your rides, and look back at the end of the week and FEEL PROUD, of what you have achieved.
No special equipment required, just yourself and a bike, but I would recommend training now, so that by next June you can complete the distance and plenty of hill climbs in the training, as the Southdowns and devils dyke as you come into Brighton are steep.
