I have had 4 bicycles stolen in the last 3 years?
Does anyone have an idea what happens to them afterwards.
Perhaps someone who has stolen one could enlighten me.
Answers:
I lock mine in my car.
they either ride them, give them to someone, or sell them.
Usually they are just used by the people who steal them, or sold on the £1 billion a year black market. In terms of how you can protect yourself from bike theft, wrap black duct tape around the chasis (to make it less attractive to criminals) and lock it with a D-Lock.
probably strip it 4 parts
They end up in bicycle heaven.Lock it up!
I have not stolen a bicycle. Or anything else. Ever.
But, to answer your question: they probably just get trashed or sold on to poor, cheap rotters who only care that they're saving money.
Some advice for the future – spend less on the bike and more on the lock.
Could i interest you in a new bicycle?
look after them better! you must be an easy target lol
Buy a better lock!

A guy found his bike that was stolen on e-bay. Happens frequently.
He got it back after contacting authorities.
Always record serial numbers of expensive items, including bikes, to help make your claim.
You could also put your contact info on a piece of paper.with a note saying that the bike is stolen, and stick it in your handlebar opening (take the cap off). In case anybody takes it to a shop.mechanics check for that I believe.
I did a long long long time ago. I took two different bikes that weren't locked up. I used them for spare parts, and trashed the rest. No my parents never knew. I've also had a couple ripped off as well. So Karma caught up with me. I suggest you get a long thick cable and use a hardened steel lock on it. Run the cable through the frame and both wheels and the bike rack to secure it. If they really want it they'll really have to work for it. Good luck.
ever bought a second hand bike or bike parts? coz some of them will have been stolen
They usually cycle down the road and try and sell them to randoms. Can i reccommend Kryptonite cycle locks
