Floyd Landis?
Why doesn't he just throw his hands in the air and give up? After rididng the greatest tour stage ever he gets busted for drugs. It has Ben johnson written all over it. Does he really have a case?
Answers:
Floyd is supposed to release his defense strategy to the public this week. I think it will be interesting.
Personally, I believe that he either didn't do it or somehow he did it and didn't know it.
Think about it. If you know that you did it and the test comes back positive, would your reaction be that it was the beer, or that it was a natural function of your body knowing that the first thing the lab is going to do is test the sample for markers from an external source?
I thought he looked guilty when he was riding away from everyone that fateful day, but I have two problems with the scenario.
First, testosterone is useful for preserving muscle mass and aiding in recovery, but only over time. How did he pass tests just days prior to and after his positive test?
Second, who would be so stupid to cheat and then attack in such grand fashion?
I do think the UCI is way in the wrong here too. they violated their own protocols screwed Floyd before the B test was even completed. It's no wonder he started grasping at straws from the get go.
Sometimes we should take into account someones motivation and the persons reaction to being caught.
Phree Phloyd!
They tested him twice and he failed so no he doesn't have a case.
Come on Floyd, you were caught. Maybe if he took a polygraph.
That's the beauty of the law, just because you're guilty doesn't mean they can prove that you are guilty (guilty to a legal certainty that is, completely different that actually guilty). After a few months of legal challenges, Landis will likely keep his title. Besides, considering how competitive cyclists are, I wouldn't expect him just to give up.
No idea, I guess he really didn't do it and want to let people know that!! I've meet him before, he's a really nice guy. Well I meet him before he became famous so I dont know what he's like now. I used to know him from a couple places but we don't really keep in touch anymore.
He's a douche bag loser like that f.a.g.-prick Lance "Mr. Cancer" Armstrong.
He does have a slim case. There are some very strange anomalies in his testing. He tests positive on the day of a stage win, but not before and not after? Huh? That's very, very suspicious.
It's also a very odd compound for "performance enhancement." Most experts agree it wouldn't have helped him ingesting it before a race.
The worst part is, they've shown the testosterone to be of synthetic origin. To me, that would seem to make this all a waste of time. If it's there, it's there. Good night now.
If you had a million dollars on the line, it's worth the appeal at least.
