Would it be silly for a Catholic to manage Glasgow Rangers?

Answers:
not silly but might be un-ethical!
what do you think..dooh
No why, as long as the are human why not.

We have all kinds come over here in the Premiership. Scotland is no more special than anyone else to be so demanding on religion.
i woud say so! c`mon the gers!!!
a catholic couldn't run a bath.
Could be quite a conflict there of interests thank you
a swede to manage england would be worse!
Not if he had a death wish.
Well do you think the world will cease to exsist ?Will it bring about the end of life as we know it ?Or in the wider context do think it won't make a jot of difference .Hmmm tough one I know so I'll let you ponder on that one .
The only way a Catholic would manage the huns is if he had alterior motives, for example dragging them down into the gutter and making them the laughing stock of the spl. Ah wait.. thats what plg is doing!!!
Ha
Only if Glaswegians and Rangers fans were silly enough to think it made a difference. I don't think they are.

This is like asking if it would be silly for a Republican to manage the San Francisco Giants (a baseball team in the Benighted States).

Talent rules, not religion. If a Pakistani Muslim and an Israeli Jew can get together and compete successfully in doubles tennis (this has happened), then a Catholic can manage a professional team in a Protestant stronghold. It's not like this guy is going to bring in a priest to bless the team before every game!

Perhaps I am too naive.
sorry to inform you but.Paul LeGuen is a catholic.Jocko..you really piss me off mate.
I'll bet its not dawned on anyone.but as Le Guen is French, there is a 90% chance he's from a Catholic family.
y not!!
no it would be a good thing cos then it might integrate the glaswegian community but if the question was will it ever happen the answer would be no definatly not!
Don't encourage this poster.
It's spamming for piss-poor English pubs and they ask obvious questions all over this place.
Sod off Nigel!

update: Anne, fudgie is not the kind of person who can tell anyone anything and all Oaf Firm fans are twisted individuals, you included.
Your not as daft as some people think fudgie. Thanks for telling that *** hole Jock off. What does it matter what religion a manager is if they do the job you want done. I mean I love the manager Rangers have and I think he is doing a great job keep it up Saint Paul.
I am Christian, and just cannot understand the Catholic and Christian fight in NI and Scotland. I lived in Muslim country for a while and saw Christians & Catholics are celebrating Christmas together..wonderful.
They have
ONLY A BIGGOT WHO SITS IN THE CAULDREN OF HATE(IBROX) WOULD ASK THAT SORT OF QUESTION-----REMEMBER YOU SIGNED JUDAS---
It'd be silly for anyone to manage Rangers not just a Catholic one ;)
it would not be stupid at all it is only a football team they should all grow up religion has nothing whatever to do with football there is a lot of stupidity about this celtic and rangers stuff loads of smallminded people that say they support these teams but don't really they are just bigots who think sectatianism it clever but they are showing how ignorant they really are!
IS THIS A LOADED QUESTION?THE RANGERS MANAGER IS A CATHOLIC..WOULD ANYONE THINK IT SILLY IF A SCOUSE MANAGED MAN UTD?.HOW AM I A BIGOT WHEN MY WIFE IS A SCOT PROD,AND I , A IRISH CATHOLIC,MY DAUGHTER IS A BLUE NOSE,MY SON A TIM.JOCKO OVER TO YOU! ! ! HEY FUD-G HOW ABOUT THAT PINT,,GET JOCKO TO COME WITH US EH,NOW THAT WOULD BE FUN ..YOU CAN COME TO ANNE.
Oh, it's all so much Tosh. Just give it all a rest and grow up will you all please.

And Jock lay off the Booze it does not suit you and you do yourself no favours.
Is there no escape from religion.
LOOK EVERYTHING COMES DOWN TO RELIGION ( **** ALL RELIGION OFF )
You know I came to Canada 35yrs ago, know what nothing has changed, same old ****, religion should have nothing to do with sports,so many drunken brawls of a wee ba, ridiculous.
Religion has nothing to do with ability to manage Glasgow Rangers and I would imagine Paul Le Guen is Catholic. The real issue here is your religious bias and you are still living in the Dark Ages if that is your motivation to support Rangers. Why dont you get an interest in another sport like Fishing? As far as I know there will be no religious disputes and the solitude may assist with your cerebral development.
Football is the individual religion for the whole world. So our real religion must go to the second position. If you want to support Rangers, support them. One very important thing in football is that you can show your support to you favourite team. You shouldn't show who are you: Catholic or Protestant. It is only history.
No you sad arsepiece
it would cause a lot of resentment amongst the fans - keep the catholics and protestants seperate for a few more generations at least. Everytime they lost they fans would want to hang the manager high.
