Can boxing ever produce another Ali, or has it lost it's spark forever?

Answers:
As a boxing fan for all my life I'm afraid the sport is being outdated and will eventually be replaced by the current fighting that goes on such as cage fighting and ultimate fighting venues that really pits all kind of fighting styles against one another. How can you say X is the champion of the world ( which used to mean the toughest man alive) when that heavyweight champ might be taken to the mat in seconds by a tough wrestler\ stand-up fighter. I'm afraid it's over for boxing as we once knew it. Know the champs of the world will come from this other venue and with it will come the money, fame and world respect. Sad isn't.
Boxing will never be the same as it once was. There is too much backstabbing going on in that industry right now. I personally think that they would have to get rid of Don King in order for that to happen.
While people like Don King are still about trying to monopolise boxing i'm afraid it will stay pretty stagnant , at least in the heavier divisions .
I dont think so. i also think if there would be another Micheal Jackson or Elvis but i dont think anyone can fit into their shoes or ever will. the old time boasted some of the most greatest people of all time. people these days have lost that greatness
Personally I think Boxing, as with many other sports, has become a business as opposed to a sport, which can often destroy much natural talent. So no, I think boxing peaked with Ali yet set an example to everyone about what can be acheived in the face of adversity.
The heavyweight division isn't as exciting as it once, partly because to get anywhere you have to be huge, and huge guys aren't agile, so you just won't get the wham bam effect like when Ali and Tyson ruled the roost.

In the lighter division, you still get superstars that are exciting to watch, eg. Pacquiou, Calzaghe, Cotto etc, but because they're not heavyweights, they won't have the same aura of invincibility about them.
Similar to the above answers, but I think that the next batch of top boxers will come from Eastern Europe, where they are still hungry, in the same way the American blacks were for the last 50 years or so.
Great.Exp,
Boxing has always been the black sheep of the sports world and I guess it always will be. To say there will never be another Ali is probably the truth, but as unique as he was there has always been great showmen in the boxing world. I personally am still amazed how two men that are the same in all ways (hieght, wieght, age, reach, stamina and overall physical strength) can go into the ring and one can beat the other. It's the mental strength that is the real winner here, like any sport being mentally ready is the winning edge.

I think Don King KO'd boxing!
BOXING IS DONE. DON KING AND MIKE TYSON RUINED THE SPORT FOREVER.
Looked at answers above and disagree! They said there would never be another Jack Johnson, Dempsey, Louis, Marciano and subsequently Ali. There will be, boxing is inside the champions and people like King will not last forever! There may be "a great" alive today, just waiting to showcase his talent! don't be so pessimistic, records are there to be broken, and the 1 in a million who wants to be better than Ali will show up!

ok maybe not in our lifetime but he will!
you moron there can only be one ali that is why his name is muhammad ali , and there will only be one joe frazier and one george foreman , one dempsey , one la motta , one lewis or tyson, i think what you are really asking is will there ever be another dominant great heavyweight again?
Are you referring to a Heavyweight or in general. I think there is only going to be one Ali.
I know you mean a great champion like Ali. The answer is no because the next great athlete will be playing other sports.
No more Ali, but Boxing lives Forever and Be Patient because boxing is destined to have another Cross Over Superstar that could surpass Ali's Talent and Showmanship.
Nobody can produce another human being, but there are boxers who are better than Ali and there will come boxers even better. Lots of @ssholes claimed that Titanic was unsinkable.
It's highly unlikely. Back in Ali's days, there weren't many options. That's the reason why some people turn to boxing. It's a very hard profession. Now, people can turn to other professional sports or can go to university.
ali who??
there will never be another Ali, the fighters now are different cause they all have their own style of fighting.
