That's a subjective question, but since I have followed Scotland round Europe quite a few times, I know that the locals really seem to respect us, if at first they think we're maybe like the English fans 'cos a lot of them equate Britain to "England." Once we show them that we aren't English then they tend to take us to their hearts.
I do feel genuinely sorry for the real England fans who follow their team without causing any trouble, yet are tarred with the same brush, as racist hooligans. However, Scottish fans should be less smug and the whole "Tartan Army" thing can get a bit tedious and forced. But I'd rather that than the English way. The real England fans have to stand up to the racist troublemakers and get a decent reputation back, then they'll get the respect that Scotland fans get. Problem solved!
I would say yes. The scots have one of the worst football teams in the world yet the fans still have faith. They haven't even qualified for the world cup in decades!

Of course we are!! We support our team even in the darkest moments and let's face it we've had a few of those recently!! But the true test comes at major Internationals...When the loser 'ENGERLISH' lose they riot...when we lose we still party because we half expected it anyway! The way the team are shaping up in this 'group of hell' though does give hope for the future and if we make the finals we won't riot because we only got a draw against Macedonia! (Yes they'll be there ahead of ENGERLAND) we'll party because we know it's only a competition and if we can get further than the auld enemy we've won!!!

At the World Cup, during the England v T&T game, the englanders spent most of the game facing away from the pitch so they could chant racist abuse at opposing fans behind them.
Not a minority as some Nigels claim, MOST of them.
When Crouch climbed on to Brent Sancho, pulling his hair and scoring for engerlund, then and only then did their NF fans turn around and get behind the team.
This is unthinkable for Scotland fans.
Every tournament Angle-land are in involves their fans rioting.
This too is unthinkable for Scottish fans.
Incredibly the english media started to suggest the englanders were the best fans in the world!

Consider the Brazillian with his bright yellow shirt and drum, the German in Lederhosen, Mexican with ludicrous sombrero - all at games in a spirit of celebration.
Engerlund fans wore Nazi-style helmets and went looking for fights.
Germany breathed a sigh of relief when they left.

If Scotland had a team worthy of their great fans, then they would be feared by everyone.
The fans are truly great and must have a great supply of patience.

The support the team get is not matched anywhere on the Planet. Even Boumsong was saying that it was like a 12th man. That roar that greeted the goal must have been heard all over Britain and the whole ground was rocking. The Scots deserve a good team given the support they get but you cant have everything in life. Look at the neighbours God gave us.
