Why do fans of Univ. of Kentucky Wildcats lives revolve around the team winning or losing. Grow up.?
Answers:
I agree people must all grow up.!
Hate to break it to you but true fans of any team are like that..I guess they choose to let their lives "revolve" around the team they truly love. Of course you'd want your team to win.
hey im from kentucky go big blue! thats called team support and encouragement we cant help it we love them and want to win
Im a UK fan in california and i think the wildcat fans revolve around there basketball team is because there isnt much else to cheer for in kentucky.
It's not just them. Look at the Yankees, Duke or the USC Trojans. All of these teams have won big time before. They are expected to win. Their fans just want what they have been given a taste of.
Don't most fans' lives revolve around their teams winning or losing. They win, you're in a good mood all week. they lose, you aren;t. That's what being a hardcore fan is. It may be dumb and stupid but as far as growing up.this occurence happens to everyone in all ages.
Only fans with some sense of perspective do not live and die with each game but look at the overall picture.
First off, bub, you need to learn to punctuate correctly. Second, I resent your singling out of UK in particular, because there are a lot of basketball programs that are just as bad, if not worse.
To answer your question, we Kentucky fans tend to get caught up in our team's progress because Kentucky basketball is a big part of our culture here in Kentucky, especially in the central part of the state. We have only a handful of professional sports teams, none of them 'mainstream'. Other than that, our fixation on sports revolves around the universities of the state, predominately UK and Louisville. Passing judgment on people for caring about their team's success is basically saying (to me, at least) that it's wrong to care about what happens in your community, because that's really what goes on.
So, why do we revolve around the team winning or losing? Because we care about it, and about the players and staff members individually. You can't turn away from your own culture.
