Is Steve McLaren the right man for the England job??

Personally, I think Terry Venables should have been given the main role. England played their best football for years last time he was head coach.

Answers:
El Tel is McLarens right hand man, so maybe it's not all bad. I think no one is the right man for the job until we actually win something, and then they will be! We'll always complain if we don't win, or get knocked out of a competition.

Personally I don't think he is - he had too much to do with Sven and I think we should have got someone completely different. A maverick like venables would be great, but I think he had his chance, and yes England played exceleently under him, but his dodgy dealing cocked that all up for the team.
Its too early to judge. Give Steve more time to prove his worth.
no
Lets wait and see only time and the players feelings towards him
will tell
mclaren has a huge amount of passion and belief in his squad and is giving younger players a chance i would like venables as manager but at least he has a role in the england camp
No i dont think he is.ok he's having a good streak at the moment (or was). I dont think he actually knows what he's doing. The only thing i will take my hat off to, is he is making the players earn their place in the team. After he ditched Becks i think it made the players reliase that they aint invincible, there will always be someone younger and better to take over from them! Lets hope that brings some passion back into the game!
Yes. One minor blip against the macs is not enough to judge him on With him and TV at the helm I think we will have a very good Euro this time.
give him more time, at least he manages better that Sven who? you know who am i referring to?
No he i not u could photo-shop a Photo of S--- onto him
and no-one would know the difference.
Should have given it to Martin o'neill..
YES of coarse he is.Hes a *anny.Signed a long contract i hope.
watching england games even when they win with big scores against modest teams, i wasn t covainced..definitly i think he s not
It doesnt matter who's got the england job after a bad result like saturday you english start moaning about your manager, there will never be a right man in your eyes.
At 1st i thought he was ok but now i've changed my mind. It should have been big phil.
Here we go again......
Give him a chance ffs!
NO, but im not just saying it because we drew the other night i didnt want him in the first place. i felt we should of got the best manager regardless of nationality which for me is Guus Hiddink, he has proved at international level how good he is, the whole process was a farce we just settled for him.
This is the squad`s worse defeat since Steve McLaren has taken over. Before Saturday I do not remember so many people asking this question, will we have to change Manager every time England lose, if we do I think we will run out of people to do the job. And can I just that I have nothing against Terry Venables, it`s just that Steve was given the job as Manager, let him do his job.
No he is not and the fact he got Venables in to prop him up says it all.
No he is not, he was poor when he was Middlesboro manager and he still is poor. When he became England manager he said" There will be more than plan A" I'm still waiting for plans B,C.D,etc .
My manager would have been Martin Oneill a man with passion who lives every moment and not someone who just sits there writing his shopping list pretending that he knows what he is doing..
