Does anyone else think that England don't deserve to win anyhing in football with their attitude?

The cricket and rugby teams have a good attitude and so do their fans. They win deservedly if they do unlike the council estate football team who go around saying how good their are and tell everyone they are going to win the World Cup (even Brazilians aren't that cocky).

Their fans are lager louts who don't have a clue (not all actually you can't label all England fans as such just like not all Muslims can be blamed for the actions of the bad) and the media rightly portrayed them as thugs who turn to violence when they are losing.

Answers:
The fault lies squarely at the door of the media.
The xenophobia they display is sickening.
Johnny Foreigner - how dare he beat England!
The stupid English fans (and most of them are of under-average intelligence) believe this rubbish and get hurt when they don't win.
Being unable to express themselves in any other way, they turn to hatred of other countries.
It is not a majority of fans, it is most of them.
when England played Trinidad and Tobago in the World Cup, most of them were facing in the opposite direction from the pitch to shout racist abuse at the T&T fans.
Only when England finally scored (through a foul by Crouch) did they take an interest in the game.
Other country's fans go to competitions in a party mood.
England prepare for a war.
England fans are predominantly scum and when the team exits competitions, every other country is relieved.
The 'world beating' players of England are then pilloried in the press and the fans look for scapegoats, usually finding a foreigner whose fault it was, courtesy of The Sun.
This year the England fans were labelled 'the best fans in the World'.
By whom?
The English!
But as soon as the process ends, it begins anew.
The idiots here saying England will win the World Cup in four years are already fooled into a false premise - that which states England have a divine right to win everything.
There is nothing wrong with getting behind your team and looking to games with hope.
A seething hatred for the opposition is something else.
England generally scrape through qualifying stages of World Cups and the fans learn nothing from this.
They still think they are world-beaters because The Sun told them so.
It would be amusing if it wasn't so pathetic.
It was also predictable that you would be accused of being Scottish.
I might be and I can say for Scotland's size, we do well for a country our size.
There have been enough competitions in my lifetime Scotland has qualified for when England stayed at home but the people on here know nothing beyond yesterday's Sun.
But that's them looking for a foreigner to blame again.
But you know, it's all going to repeat itself and the idiot fans will be here in four years blaming some Argentinian/German/Swede or whoever and the likes of us can come here and point out the errors of their ways.
It is rather good sport, if a little easy, to catch little englanders on a baited hook.
No we are the champions. My friend.
England WILL win the world cup in 2010
Shame on you.. i hope you're not english? if you were, you would realise that we are the best.. at most things. and the vast majority of us love football...after all, we are the country that invented the game!
Until players play for pride rather than mega money England wont win anything
Couldn't agree more my friend.
I like how you generalise 'their attitude' as fans and players as a whole. Look a little closer at the issue my friend, its not the fans or the players who have attitudes its the corrupt media that clouds everything. Every World Cup or European Trophy we are reminded of past glories by the TV or Tabloids. The media need a reality check. We are not going to win the World Cup any time soon and if an English team wins the Champions League it will most certainly be because of a foriegn manager and/or players.

Are you Scottish by any chance?
i do. i think England is the sorry country that ever played soccer
What a highly patronising attitude you have. If you dont really like football, which is obvious, then why even bother asking a question about it??

For someone who criticizes the English media for over-hyping England's chances ( which is self-evident anyway), you seem to have swallowed their own little image of football fans completely.

You are so ignorant of this subject, it is painful.

edit: dont you get upset easily? Stop SHOUTING! its ignorant.
And what precisely draws you to Italy? Typical women "supporters"..I suppose you liked their hair or something..
You are clueless! Try looking at MORE violent countries..Latin Americans etc. It only media hype and unfortunate gullible people not dissimilar to yourself that have this thought. I've lived abroad and had visiting England fans that were 100% fine. Most of the time its this sad portrayal of the fans that causes other nations to taunt and provoke the fans to react. Luckily most of them have the sence.

Live in this century dear and stop living in the 80's
I think if you don't go into a competition thinking you have a chance to win then you're never going to. Nothing wrong with self-belief. However, there's a difference between believing you can win, and believing it's your God-given right. I think the English media is a lot more guilty of that than the players though, and it's the media that hypes up the fans. True, a small number (proportionately) of England fans give the rest a bad name, but you said yourself you can't blame them all, or even most. I'm Scottish, and I supported England in the world cup. I wouldn't support anyone against Scotland of course, but I'd always support a home nation against any other team.
Shellie is wrong. England did not invent the game. The English created the world's first football association in London in 1863 but the game itself was played in Italy (Florence to be exact) some 300 years before this. And before that the Chinese were playing a form of football.
Well this sounds like a question from someone who's team has been knocked out of one of the major competitions such as the World Cup. As for them being lager louts may I point out that so far I have been to over 30 England matches all over the world and I DON'T DRINK!
the fans do not matter of how cocky theyare. the rearon england will not win any thing because the players a scared when they play a big comp. like what m owen said, the players do not play as good as they play in thier clubs. in friendly matches, they always win because it doesnt matter if they win or lose and they play good football, but when it comes to big competition like the w cup, they are boring to watch even they win a match. thake germany for example, i know they didnt win the w cup but they play good football every match, thats why the fans are always happy.

i disagree
yes they're too complacent
Come on, you sound pretty misable. As some of your other answers state, you gotta ave, a bit of self belief. Cheer up.
Strange you can support and cricket team but not the footy.
Do you like strawberry's and cream???
How is attitude any sort of criteria by which to decide deservedness in a sporting contest?
I agree we have a very bad attitude although i do support them
They got what it takes, but they never kept their heads on.
That's why they've not win anything in recent years.
It's going to take someone a little special to rein the players in and really make something of this England side.
i think england are overrated especially in soccer but the cricket team is good. for the football, i think the problem is people overrate the england team because of the good league they have but forgetting that the league is good because of internationals from other countries who play there, the likes of henry, makalele, drogba, ballack, essien, rosciky, fabregas, alonso, van persie, van der sar and many other internationals who are currently the best in england. if you really want to find an england player who is really sparkling at the moment, you would have terry, lampard, lennon, crouch and maybe gerrard but definitely not rooney and the others in the team are just average, look at the likes of carragher this season, carrick, downing, ashley cole and even gary neville, there is really nothing special about them but if you talk of countries like france who have players in almost every european league and even brazil, and these players command first team jerseys and they are really good and thats why they succeed. no offense.
England have the potential as do all participants in the World Cup. The hype that stirs in the media is not helping the squad because of the celebrity status that the players such as Beckham and Rooney have gained and being in the spotlight really is not any positive for the squad.
I can see how this cocky attitude would bring the team down because people raise the bar out of reach of the ability of certain players; hence players would not play up to expectations like Lampard in the last World Cup.

Also I'd like to add that some players such as Michael Owen need to be reconsidered as possible candidates for the forward position because I don't believe that he brings the skill and stamina needed to succeed at the highest levels.
