Anyone know of web sites for training work outs on the bike?
Answers:
www.53x12.com is one by Michele Ferrari and has some useful albeit in depth information. Check out Trainright.com which is the one by Chris Carmichael. I like it but he relies completely on periodization and way too much base training, in my humble opinion. Finally, there is www.TrainingPeaks.com. This one is not free, but it's more reasonable than an online coach, not to mention a real one, and they have detailed workouts and complete programs for whatever your event or need.
There are others out there, but these are a few of the best, in my humble opinion.
Good luck.
try google, wikipedia or ask.com
subscribe to the newsletter at roadbikerider.com ; and you'll get an email each thursday with great tips on training, and other cycling goodies..
It depends on the type of training you are looking to do. Though for any go to the web sites for magazines or buy the magazines. You can usually find stuff on training programs and helpful tips. Also some will have links to nutritional areas that have more information as well as dietary help.
Free? Probably not. Chris Carmicheal has a great workout, but it costs. Try your library. They may have some books on the subject. Also, check at the library for bicycle mags. They always have a training workout in them. Good luck!
I use this one, from the Livestrong website--
