What type of gamepad is best for playing this? Is a joystick / gamepad needed?

I just bought this for my PC - I bought a Logitech gamepad - works perfect - the hardest thing is it is just like PS2's controller, but instead of the shapes, we have 1,2,3, etc.. so you may experience a little confusion to start
