What sized hooks should I use for bass fishing in britain?
Answers:
It isnt so much the size of hook, or the fish you are angling for. Its the bait you intend using, that needs a sensible hook size put with it.
For instance a small crab is well mounted on a 1/0 or 2/0, just make sure the hook point is showing nice and proud. For whole squid, a 2 hook pennel rig with 2/0 to 4/0 hooks can be used. Just be sure to make the hookpoint stand clear of the bait. a good strong hook which is just big enough for the bait, is the best hook, hope you catch a moby
Well, if the bass are the same in britain and in the u.s. use a size 12 or 14 hook, but it is always best to ask the locals.
Use a grappling hook.
4/0
For sea bass, anywhere between 1/0 - 4/0 but try to match it up to the size of the bait (e.g. Peeler crab)
