Would you clip a pony for a best conditioned class in hand for the winter or is it cheating?
Answers:
You can still keep a winter coat in good condition. Try to keep your pony rugged up as much as possible, this way his body will not feel the need to grow such a thick winter coat. Also make sure you groom him thoroughly everyday.
I've prepared Thoroughbreds for sale in the middle of winter, and this is how we keep them looking their best (also we didn't turn them out for a few weeks, but this is not ideal).
Check with the Show Seretary to see if there is anything in the show rules about clipping - no point in you going to all the effort to turn out a 100% natural pony, only to find everyone else has clipped theirs out!
Good luck.
I don't quite understand this question
Clip it to what?
What is this to do with cycling?
If I understand the question correctly. No. If you are showing this pony why is it not barn kept to retain a better coat. The heavy coat for winter if you clip will not look right in a show, the judges will know.
