A few days ago Nigels were predicting a huge defeat for Scotland.
Now they are saying we were lucky or that somehow we are jealous of engerlund.

If you are talking about true Football loving supporters nuetral or not we certainly will for some time to come as this was a star studded French team!
If you are talking about the English media or so called supporters not likely, as soon as the Sassenachs sober up in the Manchester prison where they spent the weekend they will be too busy claiming they were robbed or this "world-class" player or that one let them down.
I do assume you mean respect from the English by this question. As far as respect from the Scottish fans goes, I think the Scottish squad have earned it. It was definitely not the tidyest display against the French, but as football is a result driven sport then so far Scotland are the unofficial best team in the world. France beat the world title holders and Scotland beat the French. Luck probably did have a lot to do with the win, but if Scotland get lucky through to the Euro 2008 final then who's complaining? I'm sure the squad and the fans'll accept that quite happily. The English do rate themselves as one of the best teams in the world, and while this may be true as individuals within a team, They look nothing like the club teams they play for. It's fighting spirit that keeps the Scots where they are with perhaps one of the best managers that we have come across. While we may not win the major competitions we can look forward to participating within them and hopefully instead of taking a back seat when it comes to national news and sport, we'll grace the sport headlines. I do wish all of the UK's squads well in the future and hope that the broadcasters of the UK give all of our teams decent national coverage, instead of being stuck on an English team who are not performing for their also very passionate fans. Obviously I wish Scotland that little bit more extra luck!
I always show respect when a team from the United Kingdom does well, but as for respect from every1 else, I cannot say. The question is: Will the England team ever get respect from the people of Scotland? I've never meet a Scot who has shown any.

its only the Nigel's who wont give us respect,but who cares,we beat the 2ND best team in the world(Brazil are 1st),because we have organisation,passion,team spirit,talent and BOTTLE,you just know that if England were to play France they would bottle it,as they always do against really big teams,never mind getting a lucky 0-0 draw at home against lowly Macedonia,with their so called world class superstars.
